PUMA Athlete and Premier League star Christian Pulisic will score in a very different game today – chess. The American will face-off against a 10-year-old app version of the reigning World Champion, PUMA Ambassador Magnus Carlsen in a very special Play Magnus Charity Chess Challenge for the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour. For each move Christian will make against 10-year-old Magnus, PUMA will donate 500 US-Dollar to UNICEF. The event is being held as part of the Charity Cup which has been devoted to supporting UNICEF humanitarian work in Ukraine.

“Chess is a recent passion that I rekindled during all the time indoors in lockdown and today I am happy to join the Play Magnus Charity Chess Challenge for a good cause.” – Christian Pulisic

So far more than $60,000 has been raised for UNICEF from donations made by fans, players and the proceeds from charity auctions.
