Get the Look: PUMA x The Smurfs

Joining together to create and play, PUMA x The Smurfs is the latest collab between PUMA and the infamous little blue creatures. Merging the characteristic Smurf playfulness with PUMA sportswear essentials, the latest launch brings a spritely spirit to apparel and footwear, available in kid and adult options. We’ve styled some OOTDs inspired by items from the line.

The Shoes

Presenting footwear choices featuring these pop culture icons, the first look runs with the PUMA Slipstream which evokes the Purple Smurf energy in details like toe debossing, heel graphics and a contrasting orange fabric tag exclaiming ‘Gnap!’. In the Smurf universe, everyone’s favourite blue buddies turn purple and evil if they contract the “purple disease”. “Gnap” is the noise they make when they’re hopping around and making mischief.

The other option seen styled here is the PUMA Mayze, inspired by the lovely Smurfette character, as seen in the cheerful blue and yellow colourway, floral graphics and special badge on the tongue. If neither of these strikes your fancy, there are updated versions of the Suede and RS-X available in the collection, also inspired by your other favourite Smurf characters.

The Outfit

A Belgian comic franchise beloved around the world, The Smurfs tells the tale of blue humanoid creatures who live in mushroom-shaped houses in the forest. This new collab is an expression of the Smurf attitude meeting PUMA silhouettes, and features matching essentials ─ tees, hoodies and sweats with bold graphics and playful prints.

The first look is inspired by the malevolent nature of the Gnap Smurf, edgy and a little bit dark. At the heart is a black tee from the collab, comfortable and classic, featuring the PUMA cat and Smurf character frolicking on the chest. Below is a sun-bleached and mildly distressed pair of jeans in a faded amethyst shade of purple.

The cheerful partner in this dance of outfits is a breezy look inspired by the feminine ways of the Smurfette. Once again at the core is a tee from the line, this time in a fresh white featuring those same co-branding and cheeky graphic details. Below is a denim miniskirt with alternating stripes of white and blue. Then a silky overshirt in a cheerful yellow stays within the lines when it comes to the established colour themes, plus it is the perfect piece to transition seasons with.

The Accessories

Keeping up with the coordination, both outfits are topped off by beanies from the line, each infused with a bit of that Smurf magic. But that’s where the similarities end ─ look number one stays on the dark side with a single silver-tone ear cuff and an angular black leather shoulder bag with silver hardware. Look two is sunny and uplifting: gold jewellery gleams with a layered series of necklaces and floral earrings that match the floral aspects of the sneakers. A cute little blue clutch with gold hardware is the finishing pop of playfulness.
