August 11, 2023It has been an exciting round of matches for our PUMA Footballers. While unfortunately it is the end of the competition for our PUMA Teams Morocco and Switzerland, many of our players are still scoring goal and assisting in their PUMA boots. A moment to remember: Lina Hurtig scoring the winning penalty against USA!
Alba Redondo
Laia Codina
In a 5-1 win over Switzerland, PUMA Athletes Alba Redondo and Laia Codina helped lead the team to victory. Alba’s assist and then goal in the 17th minute and Laia’s goal in the last minute of the first match set the path for them to rock into the quarter finals.
Eugenie Le Sommer
In a 4-0 win over Morocco, Eugenie Le Sommer came out on top as the top goal scorer. Scoring in the 23rd and 70th minutes, Eugenie led France into the quarter finals.
Lina Hurtig
In a nail biting match against USA, Sweden send USA home after a penalty shootout. Sweden won 5-4 on penalties, with Lina Hurtig scoring the winning penalty!
Watch out for the final rounds of matches from August 11-20th! Spain have already beaten the Netherlands in their quarter final, and Sweden have beaten Japan. Tomorrow Australia take on France and England take on Columbia. The semifinals will then take place on August 15-16 and the final on August 20th.
