Get the Look: PUMA RE:Collection

PUMA is helping rewrite the fashion narrative with the RE: Collection. Breaking the chain of wear, waste and repeat, the line was designed to minimize waste in the textile industry by incorporating recycled materials in an array of footwear, apparel and accessories. Inspired by this shift away from the finite nature of the fashion industry we put together a timeless look with some items from the capsule and some vintage treasures.

The Shoes

Respect the planet and take steps to reduce your impact ─ quite literally. With the new launch, PUMA was driven to level up from the ground up, attempting to repair and rebuild a fashion system that is no longer working. Featuring leather off-cuts, polyester made from recycled plastic and recycled cotton, all the footwear in the collection is made with at least 20% recycled material. For the look today we went with the sleek Cali Dreams in a fresh white with gorgeous accents of orange and beige.

The Outfit

Reduce, reuse, regenerate… all while you embody your love for the environment; this dynamic collection of footwear, apparel, and accessories is constructed from PUMA’s own industry waste and other recycled materials.

This season, spring colours are all about grounding tones inspired by nature, with playful pops of brighter shades such as oranges and blues incorporated to uplift. At the core of today’s look, we loved the comfy BMW M Motorsport RE:Collection crew which features futuristic graphics, statement shading and recycled materials ─ perfect for the sustainably stylish shopper. Beneath this, a preppy colour-blocked sports bra from the line has a great fit and supportive build, plus lends to the overall athletic aura.

Then striped overalls plucked from your mom’s closet go perfectly with the jaunty crew neck. Overalls tend to cycle in and out of fashion, so it makes sense to hold on to your best pair and wait for the next in-cycle rather than throwing them out. And luckily, they are back in a big way this spring season, so it’s definitely time to resurrect. This comfy-casual iteration has a dropped waist for that extra-relaxed fit that is great for layering.

Speaking of layers, a vintage blue gilet adds to the timeless athleisure feel and is a unique element you won’t catch anyone else on the street wearing. Opting for high-quality circular fashion is a great way to reduce the fashion industry’s impact on the world. Feel good, look good, good for the planet… everybody wins.

The Accessories

Simple, sustainable sportstyle was the vibe for our accessories─ refined essentials, but nothing too extravagant. First up, fanny packs are going to continue to remain supreme this spring; this lovely one from the collection is perfect for holding all the essentials so you can step out into the world with open arms. A navy blue ribbed scarf is made from soft recycled materials and adds texture while matching the shades of navy in the other apparel items. A cute little ‘Evil Eye’ necklace in rose gold tones adds a layer of softer femininity, while dip-dye chain earrings with bold pops of orange detail effortlessly match the orange accents in the shoes and bag. The final touch: a pair of rather dramatic baby-blue shades. Tinted sunglasses will be one of the hottest trends for the coming season and this pair is both playful and complements the shading in the rest of the look.

It’s time to take a look at our consumption patterns, rewrite the old narrative and reduce our impact on this planet by respecting our resources. With the RE: Collection the capsule lets the material do the talking. Waste not, want not ─ a new cycle begins.
