When the sliding doors of the F1 Exhibition open, you don’t just enter a museum – you step into a world that has captivated, electrified, and inspired for 75 years. Since 1950, Formula 1 has been about racing, innovation, and rewriting history.
The anniversary tour brings that legacy to life – with a series of spectacular exhibitions across the globe, showcasing artifacts that blend technology, emotion, and cultural relevance.
One of the partners: PUMA. The sports brand which dressed World Champions like Fernando Alonso or Kimi Raikkönen. But we have not only supplied gear – but made statements. Like the iconic black race suit worn by Lewis Hamilton in 2020. A suit that stood against racism, for visibility and diversity. Today, it’s one of the exhibition’s centerpieces.

“That suit stands for more than motorsport. It shows what clothing can express – conviction, change, humanity.”
Tung Hoang, Manager PUMA ArchiveThe exhibition is curated, modular, and location-specific: Visitors in Las Vegas, Amsterdam, or Bogotá experience different stories. Some cities like São Paulo are official Grand Prix hosts. Others, like Paris or Toronto, were chosen for their motorsport heritage.
From Verstappen’s gold to Vettel’s early days
Everywhere, PUMA plays a part: with race suits, gloves, shoes – some of them even touchable. In Amsterdam, the spotlight is on Max Verstappen – featuring his golden 2021 championship shoe or the “Lederhosen” look, that was a Red Bull special edition for the Austrian GP – developed closely with the team.

In Europe, Michael Schumacher is ever-present – with gloves, suits, and his iconic PUMA Future Cat racing shoe, first worn in 2004.
“Schumacher helped us push technological boundaries. He wasn’t just a champion – he was a real development partner.”
In South America, items from Juan Pablo Montoya and Felipe Massa celebrate local legends.
Some pieces were created specifically for the exhibition: In Las Vegas, PUMA’s motorsport team prepared a full racing outfit – suit, gloves, shoes – for visitors to touch. That’s normally off-limits. What looks like fabric is actually high-tech performance gear.

Archive Treasures on Tour
Many of the items on display come straight from the PUMA Archive in Herzogenaurach, and join the exhibition for certain stops only, like the black Hamilton suit or the golden Max Verstappen Speedcat Pro shoes.“Our contributions grow with the exhibition. We provide different pieces for different locations. What’s shown in Amsterdam might be different in Paris – depending on what’s locally relevant or newly available from the archive.”
says Tung. The F1 Exhibition is a living history book – one that’s not only about speed, but about people, about struggles, about values. Formula 1 is turning 75 and proving once again that it’s more than just racing. It’s a stage for ideas. And PUMA is dressing it.
