What a night for PUMA! Both the female and male European Athletes of the Year are PUMA athletes. And who won? You can probably guess! Yaroslava Mahuchikh and Armand (Mondo) Duplantis snagged the top honors at the Golden Tracks award night in Skopje, North Macedonia, on Saturday. These two aren’t just winning awards; they’re breaking records and taking names. Yaroslava and Mondo both clinched European and Olympic titles this year, setting world records along the way. FOREVER. HIGHER. 

Yaroslava Mahuchikh took home the women’s European Athlete of the Year award for the first time, beating out fellow champs Keely Hodgkinson and Femke Bol. Presented with her trophy by European Athletics President Dobromir Karamarinov, Yaroslava retained her European title in Rome and then snagged Olympic gold in Paris at just 22.


But the real showstopper? Our PUMA athlete smashed the high jump world record at the Paris Diamond League, clearing 2.10m and breaking Stefka Kostadinova’s long-standing record from 1987. This makes her the second Ukrainian to win European Athlete of the Year, following high jumper Bogdan Bondarenko in 2013. Huge congratulations from your PUMA fam, Yaroslava!

Mondo Duplantis, the Swedish pole vault sensation, was crowned men’s European Athlete of the Year outright for the first time. He previously shared the award with Jakob Ingebrigtsen in 2022. This year, Mondo was up against some tough competition, including Olympic 5000m champ Jakob Ingebrigtsen and long jump star Miltiadis Tentoglou.

Mondo had a season for the history books, defending his titles at the World Athletics Indoor Championships, European Championships, and the Olympics. He set world records of 6.24m, 6.25m, and 6.26m, staying unbeaten both indoors and outdoors. He also set a championship record of 6.10m to win his third consecutive European outdoor title in Rome. He is truly born to fly. Congratulations, Mondo!
