March 3, 2023The KING is returning to the pitch – and this time without leather! PUMA’s legendary KING football boot has been redesigned to include K-BETTER technology, designed to deliver exceptional performance without kangaroo leather.
K-BETTER technology is a completely new, non-animal based upper material that contains at least 20% recycled materials. It has been proved to outperform the previous KING K-Leather in testing for touch, comfort, and durability, and we are so proud of K-BETTER’s performance, we will stop producing football boots with kangaroo leather altogether this year. It is a step towards a better future!

The new KING also follows on from our FUTURE and ULTRA boots and have a women specific fit. The new women’s KING combines the latest KING technology with measurements such as volume and instep height engineered for a woman’s foot. Aside from the redesigned upper, the new KING also features a new lightweight outsole with an external heel counter, KING stability spine and conical studs for better controlled movements.
The PUMA KING has been worn by legendary players such as Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona, Eusébio, Lothar Matthäus and Pelé, who dominated international football for decades.
