PUMA HQ adds 5 more zero-emission hydrogen cars to its fleet

October 6, 2020

Just three months after taking delivery of our first ever hydrogen car, PUMA HQ in Herzogenaurach expanded its fleet of zero-emission vehicles by adding another five hydrogen fuel cell-powered Hyundai Nexo cars.

PUMA now has six hydrogen fuel cell-powered cars in its headquarter fleet, in addition to several battery-electric vehicles (such as Tesla Model 3 and Hyundai Kona). By the second quarter of next year, 6 vehicles with a diesel engine will be removed from the fleet.

These vehicles are a very attractive alternative to conventional cars with a combustion engine, because they can be used in the same way. The feedback we've had from users so far has been great.

Sebastian Friedrich, Head of Central Services - PUMA

As part of PUMA’s sustainability strategy 10FOR25, we aim to reduce our CO2 emissions by 35 % until 2030. This means that we want to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by what scientists say is necessary to keep global warming well below 2 degrees Celsius. Switching our existing fleet of cars to more environmentally friendly alternatives is part of this strategy.

The new hydrogen fuel cell-powered cars have a range of more than 600 kilometers (370 miles) and can be refilled in just a few minutes. This makes them ideal for longer distance trips.
