Zero emissions: PUMA adds hydrogen car to its fleet

July 2, 2020

As one of the first companies in Germany, PUMA has added a hydrogen car to its vehicle fleet in Herzogenaurach, which produces no tailpipe emissions.

The Hyundai Nexo, which will be used as a pool vehicle, is equipped with a fuel cell that generates electricity, which in turn powers an electric engine. It has a range of more than 600 kilometres (370 miles) and can be refuelled in a few minutes.

Using environmentally friendly alternatives in our fleet of pool vehicles is part of our strategy to lower carbon emissions. As part of our sustainability strategy 10FOR25, we aim to reduce our CO2 emissions by 35 % until 2030.

Stefan Seidel, Head of Corporate Sustainability

Together with the hydrogen-powered Hyundai Nexo, PUMA has also taken delivery of a battery-powered Hyundai Kona, which joins our existing line up of battery electric cars. To make it easier to visit PUMA with an electric car, we will also expand the charging capacity at our headquarters.
