PUMA grows sales and EBIT to record levels in Q3

October 26, 2022

Despite all the uncertainties around the world, we did really well in our third quarter! In the July to September period, our sales grew 24% (17% if adjusted for changing currencies) to 2.354 billion euros and our EBIT increased by 13% to 258 million. Both are new quarterly records for us.

Among regions, sales in the Americas and EMEA were each up by more than 18% (currency adjusted), while Asia/Pacific region also recorded growth for the first time this year (+10% currency adjusted). In terms of product segments, sales growth was strongest for Footwear and Apparel. During the quarter, we saw continued strong demand for our Performance categories like Running & Training, Teamsports and Basketball, as well as for Sportstyle.

Improved product availability due to a more stable supply chain, better than expected sell-through and PUMA’s continued global brand momentum overcompensated all the negative external factors,” said PUMA CEO Bjørn Gulden.

We expect continued volatility in the market during the fourth quarter but are confident that we can deliver according to our full-year outlook.”

The strong and profitable growth in the first nine months of the year, a strong order book, an exciting product line-up as well as very good feedback from retailers and consumers make us confident for our mid-term success and growth.

For the whole of 2022, we still expect currency-adjusted sales growth in the mid-teens and an operating result (EBIT) in a range between € 600 million to € 700 million.
