PUMA Chronicles its Design History in its New Book

October 17, 2023

In collaboration with OPTIK BOOKS, PUMA has launched a book dedicated to PUMA’s design history. Titled ‘PUMA – THE GRAPHIC HERITAGE’, the book visually chronicles the fascinating success story of the company from the first letterhead of the early postwar years, to the creation of iconic sneaker lines, such as TRINOMIC.

The book features around 1,000 illustrations over 288 pages and gives readers a detailed insight into PUMA’s unique design history, and the special relationship between sport and design. The book is a must-have for all design lovers.

“Over the past 75 years, PUMA has continuously evolved. The book takes readers on a visual journey through the past and shows how a local sport shoe factory became a world-renowned brand.”
– Helmut Fischer, Mr. PUMA

Jens Müller and Katharina Sussek

“The connection between sports and design is exciting. Together with the PUMA Archive, we have created something that not only appeals to design lovers, but also sports fans all around the world.”
– Jens Müller and Katharina Sussek, OPTIK BOOKS

To celebrate the launch of the book, we held an event in our Berlin office with journalists and design experts. Together with Jens Müller from OPTIK BOOKS, Helmut Fischer presented the book to the audience and shared inside anecdotes from PUMA’s 75 year history. The evening was filled with a shared passion for PUMA’s artistic history – there were even special appearances from PUMA Ambassador Nessi and Iris Spranger, Senator for Internal, Digitalisation and Sport in Berlin.
