PUMA Athlete Pedro Pichardo wins gold in the Triple Jump

PUMA Athlete Pedro Pichardo confirmed his position as the best triple jumper of the field, winning the gold at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene on Saturday. And he did so with real ease: He jumped 17.95 m on his first attempt, the furthest leap in triple jump this year. Nobody else came close.

Pedro had already won the gold in Tokyo in 2021, as well as the European Indoor title. He had so far failed to win gold at the World Championships, however.

I had two silver medals and tried to win gold and achieved it today. This title means a lot,” Pedro Pichardo told reporters after the event. “I am progressively winning all possible titles, from Olympic gold to the world title.

PUMA has a strong history in the triple jump. The world record of 18.29 m was set in 1995 by British athlete Jonathan Edwards, who also wore PUMA spikes.

Pedro’s win is the second individual gold medal for PUMA Athletes in Eugene, following Shericka Jackson’s sensational win in the women’s 200m earlier this week.
