'...be the first in the finish line'
Tim Wenisch, the PUMA HYROX athlete, shares his HYROX journey
Bringing together thousands of Virat Kohli fans, the mural was created at Mumbai’s Carter Road Ampitheater with the help of artist Gurseet Singh. The team adopted the nickname the #KohliCrew. The mural took a marathon nine hours to create! Fans and other visitors could write a birthday wish for Virat on a cricket ball and screw it into the massive canvas.
Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma was present at the event, making it even more special. “It looks amazing and very creative from team PUMA and I will definitely send it to Virat as well. It fills my heart with great pride to see him getting so much love” he shared. Throughout the day, there was a lot of love and admiration for the cricketer.
“My childhood coach, members of my sports fraternity and fans came together to cocreate this mural for my birthday. I am touched. It is a wonderful gesture by the PUMA team and I feel great to be a part of this family.”
PUMA India also activated key stores across India with themed engagement activities for Virat Kohli’s birthday. Fans were able to express their love and admiration for the cricketer in different artistic ways. Tattoo artists, hair stylists and face painters visited the stores offering attendees Virat inspired tattoos, haircuts with his initials and unique face paint. Fans also got tattooed with the PUMA logo, Virat’s initials or his brand name one8. The uniquely creative and emotive event was great success!
“Virat Kohli is a modern-day cricket legend and has a special place in the fans’ heart. He is an inspiration to not only a legion of fans but even the professionals associated with the game. It was our endeavour to bring them all together and make it a special birthday celebration for one of the most complete batsmen of this era.”
The event was not short of celebrity guests! There were many sports personalities present, including 94-ear-old sprinter Bhagwani Devi, footballers Glan Martins and Anwar Ali, cricketer Anuj Rawat, and swimmer Srihari Nataraj. Bollywood actor Ishaan Khatter also made an appearance!
