What Equal Pay means @ PUMA
Dietmar Knoess, Gulchekhra Bakeberg and Alicia Austin talk Past, Present & Future
Two of Rocky’s go-to PUMA silhouettes – the Inhale and Mostro OG – make a comeback, joined by a striking new addition: the Mostro Gabbia. A personal favourite of Flacko’s, this fresh design features a removable cage and takes its name from the Italian for “Caged Monster.” Styled in our second look, the Mostro Gabbia reimagines PUMA’s heritage through a futuristic lens, wrapped in layered, armour-like detailing. Dubbed “a creature of design,” it’s made to protect, evolve, and move with intention.
Meanwhile, the Inhale returns with a bold refresh, as seen in outfit one. Originally launched in 2000 as a performance runner, the Inhale was inspired by breathing techniques used to maximize performance. In this latest iteration, A$AP Rocky reimagines the silhouette with a mesh upper, heat-cut flame detailing around the Formstrip, and a translucent gradient sole. Reflective accents, a FLACKO logo on the tongue, and a custom-printed footbed round out this track-to-street icon.
Look one goes for a type of rugged utility with a distinctly elevated vibe. Anchoring the outfit are the dark wash denim shorts from the collection – think classic five-pocket structure, but sharpened up with laser-etched PUMA branding and embroidered Formstrips on the back pockets. The silhouette is relaxed, the attitude unmistakably street. On top, a long-sleeve mesh tee delivers a bold hit of motorsport energy. With its all-over graphics, worn-in finish, and breathable texture, the piece brings just the right amount of chaos to balance the denim’s structure. Layered over both is a soft-spoken showstopper: a camp-collar shirt adorned with intricate embroidery, with a fluid drape of the fabric that adds movement and ease. Together, this trio nails a balance of grit, intention, and effortless cool.
Look two plays with sweet-meets-sharp energy. At its base is the cropped Flacko Smile baby tee in all its slim-fitting and soft glory, with a bold oversized graphic front and cheeky lace trim at the sleeves. It’s playful, a little punk, and totally wearable. Keeping the outfit a bit more down-to-earth is a pair of distressed denim shorts at just the right length. Crystal embellishments bring a subtle sparkle, making these not-your-average cutoffs. Up top, a structured cropped vest adds a tailored layer, fitted through the waist, which cinches the look with polish. To finish, a sleek parachute jacket brings a utility twist. The crisp black silhouette and oversized flap pockets balance out the feminine energy with an effortless edge.
We round out these two layered, statement-driven looks with accessories that elevate their personalities and pull each outfit into sharper focus. For outfit number one, the finishing touches strike a balance between offbeat elegance and low-key edge. Cat-eye sunglasses lend a sculptural silhouette that plays up the look’s artistic undercurrent. A mesh shoulder bag adds texture and movement, blending functionality with a whisper of the avant-garde. Around the neck, a chunky silver chain grounds the look with quiet strength and gives a subtle nod to industrial minimalism.
Look number two veers into experimental territory with accessories that embrace contrast and metallic shine. A black leather belt stamped with repeat PUMA branding defines the waist and punctuates the outfit with bold simplicity. In hand: the mini metallic Tool Box bag, a show-stealing piece with its high-gloss finish and utilitarian charm. Oval sunglasses bring a playful, retro mood, while a metallic crochet hat throws in a flash of festival glamour. To top it all off, a spiked ear cuff adds a flair of rebellion in a way that is sharp, stylish, and completely unexpected.
