The Tournament: Handball`s coming home

For the first time in history, the Women’s Handball World Championship will be hosted by three nations. With Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, renowned strongholds of women’s handball will play host to the tournament – some even claim Denmark to be the birthplace of modern Handball. The tournament starts on 29th November and ends on December 17th. A total of 32 teams will participate, navigating through an intense series of matches to secure a spot in the knockout rounds and competing for an Olympic qualification.

Meet Our Federations: Germany, Denmark, and Czech Republic

Germany

Germany have booked the seventh place at every major tournament since 2020 but were always missing out on the semi-finals. Therefore, the German handball team eyes a breakthrough in the upcoming World Championship. Having breezed through the European qualification with the highest aggregate win against Greece, the team is poised to break the curse and take its chances in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. The German Handball Federation wears our PUMA Cat since 2020.

Denmark

Our journey with DanskHåndbold, as the federation is called in Danish, has started in 2006. The Danish Federation has a strong history of Olympic and World Cup medals, and looks to continue its dominance in women’s handball. With the men’s team clinching the World Cup for the third consecutive time in 2023, the women’s team aims to add to the nation’s handball legacy.

Czech Republic

With a handball history dating back to Czechoslovakia’s title win in 1957, the Czech Republic strives to recapture past glory. After a notable quarter-final finish in the 2017 IHF Women’s World Championship, the Czech team is determined to make a significant impact in the upcoming competition, wearing the PUMA cat for the first time.
