PUMA athlete LaMelo Ball is NBA Rookie of the Year

PUMA athlete and Charlotte Hornets player LaMelo Ball has taken the NBA by storm this year as a rookie. The star has been crowned now with a very special trophy – LaMelo is NBA Rookie of the Year! The 19-year-old received 84 first-place votes and earned 465 total points from a global panel of 99 sportswriters and broadcasters.

PUMA is thrilled to congratulate LaMelo Ball for being this year’s recipient of the Eddie Gottlieb Trophy as the 2020-21 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year. LaMelo had a remarkable debut season leading all rookies in assists and steals and ranking second in points and rebounds. His dynamic skills and style, standout performance and perseverance to overcome his injury truly makes him one of one. We are proud to have him a part of our PUMA family, and we are excited to watch him continue to change the game for years to come.

Top 2020 NBA Draft Prospect LaMelo Ball Joins the PUMA Hoops Family

PUMA has signed a long-term partnership with the top 2020 NBA prospect La Melo Ball. At just 19 years old, Ball is one of the most exciting players in the next generation of basketball with his electrifying style of play on the court and his personal style off the court. He will enter this year’s NBA draft as one of the most sought after athletes, after becoming one of the youngest Americans to play professionally abroad in Lithuania and Australia. As part of the partnership, PUMA will collaborate with Ball to create products that incorporate PUMA’s culture first approach – blurring the lines between sports, culture, music and fashion. The first collab will be a PUMA x LaMelo Ball T-shirt and hoodie set to release November 18 to coincide with the 2020 NBA Draft.
