PUMA athletes show strong performance at several pre-Olympia competitions

Practical tests before Olympia! Over the last days, several PUMA world-class athletes showed top performances and were able to win their competitions. Among them are Mondo Duplantis, Omar McLeod, Yaime Pérez, Gesa Krause, Karsten Warholm, Imke Onnen, Mohamed Mohumed  and Ricarda Lobe.

  • Mondo cleared a world lead of 6.10m in the pole vault before three tries at a world record height of 6.19m.
  • It was his second best ever outdoor mark as well as a meet record.
  • The 27-year-old Jamaican, the reigning Olympic champion, ran a season-best of 13.08 sec in the 110m hurdles.
  • This is the second-fastest time in the world this year and secured him the win.
The reigning Cuban World Champion won the meet with a throw of 65.91m.

  • Gesa dominated the field in the womens 3000m steeplechase and won her 6th title over this distance with a time of 9:31min.
  • Showing her incredible endurance Gesa won as well the 5000m on the second day of the champs with a time of 15:26, just 2sec outside of her personal best.
  • Ricarda defended her title over 100m hurdles in time of 13,18 secounds.

  • World champs finalist Imke Onnen won the high jump with a height of 1,87m
  • Mohamed demonstrated his strength in the mens 5000m by winning in a time of 13:30min , 18sec ahead of the second fastest runner.

World champion Karsten Warholm opened the season in a great manner. He improved his 300 m hurdles all-time best from 33.78 sec to very fast 33.26 sec.
