PUMA athlete Mondo Duplantis breaks 26-year-old pole vault world record
September 18, 2020

PUMA athlete Armand “Mondo” Duplantis entered the history books last night by breaking the outdoor pole-vault world record, which was set well before he was born and has stood for 26 years.

The previous outdoor world record of 6 meters 14 centimeters was set by Ukrainian Sergey Bubka in July 1994. Last night in Rome, Mondo cleared 6m15.

Mondo jumped even higher earlier this year, when he set an indoor world record of 6m18.
