PUMA enters the smartwatch space

September 9, 2019

It tracks your heart rate while you are working out, it keeps you on track with built-in GPS, it helps you set and track your goals and it plays music to keep your vibes going:

PUMA unveiled its first-ever smartwatch at the IFA in Berlin, the world’s leading trade fair for consumer electronics and home appliances.

To enter the smartwatch space, PUMA teamed up with Fossil Group for the Gen 4 Heart Rate Smartwatch, PUMA’s first full touch display watch.

Powered with Wear OS by Google™ and equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform, it comes with a longer lasting battery while ensuring high performance and is compatible with iPhone and Android Phones.

“Check it out!”

Qualcomm’s president himself introduced PUMA’s Smartwatch to trade visitors, IFA exhibitors and press in his Keynote about the future of 5G, the next generation cellular network technology. “I recommend to check it out,” was Cristiano Amon’s advise to media, trade visitors and IFA exhibitors who joined the Keynote.

Every year, prominent, international decision makers share their personal visions at the IFA Keynotes to demonstrate current and future developments of all relevant IFA segments: lifestyle, telecommunications & infrastructure, TV & entertainment and home appliances.

What do you get?

Equipped with Google Fit, you can keep an eye on your heart while in “workout mode” to make sure your heart rate is in your ideal range; phone free, built-in GPS keeps you on track.

If you think you still need your phone to be able to listening to music – you don’t, because you can connect the Smartwatch to Spotify. Also, it can be synced to compatible workout apps.

Our customers consider technology a must for their lives—they’re looking for a smartwatch that will complement their active lifestyles. We’re thrilled to introduce our first smartwatch, which embodies the PUMA brand DNA shown in activewear and footwear. The watch will truly allow users to lace up, connect, and go.

Adam Petrick, PUMA’s Global Director of Brand and Marketing

Your Google Assistant helps you to set reminders, answers your questions and listens to your commands – you don’t have to stop your workout to change settings, goals or anything else.

A textured silicone strap provides grip and breathability to minimize sweat. To still prevent the watch from water damage during sweaty, high-intense workouts, it is rain-, splash-, sweat- and swimproof as it can be submerged up to 50 meters.

Are you curious now? A little patience is still needed: The PUMA Smartwatch will be available in November on puma.com and at selected retailers.
