As the Women’s EURO 2025 lights up Switzerland, history’s in the making — and PUMA’s been part of the story from day one. Long before packed stadiums and prime-time buzz, we believed in the power of women’s football. Our commitment started with a boot fit for female ballers – and now we’re all in, backing the game with full force this summer.

Here’s how we’re empowering our athletes to unleash their best – on and off the pitch!

We’ve Been Backing Women’s Football Since Day One

Back in 1971, when women’s football still wasn’t officially recognized by most federations, PUMA released the Pelerina – our first women-specific football boot. It featured padded ankles, multi-studded sole, and a fit designed just for her. Forget the “shrink it and pink it” approach.

Fast forward to 2022, we did it again: we became the first brand to release all three of our elite silos – KING, FUTURE, and ULTRA – in women-specific fits. Not just versions of men’s boots, but re-engineered from the studs up to reflect the shape, structure, and biomechanics of the female foot.

But our commitment to empower the female ballers isn’t marketing – it’s our solution to a problem 82% of female elite players in Europe reported: boots that just don’t fit. Backed by years of lab testing, athlete feedback, and female-led research, we built a boot that fits her. Not by shrinking the men’s version, but by redesigning it.

The upgrades? A snugger forefoot, lower instep, and boosted arch support. GripControl Pro texture for next-level ball control. And a FLEXGILITY outsole that lets players move like they mean it. This is tech that respects her anatomy and enhances performance.
