Swap 'Til You Drop: Our FOREVER. BETTER. SWAP SHOP
How our Herzo PUMAs gave old fits a fresh start.
For our shoes, we say hello (again) to a legend. First launched in 1968, the iconic silhouette of the Suede has made its mark everywhere from the Olympic podium to NYC’s underground dance floors. It’s more than a sneaker…it’s a cultural touchstone. This season, PUMA is partnering with Charles F. Stead, one of England’s oldest tanneries, to give the Suede a premium refresh. Known for 130+ years of expert craftsmanship, C.F. Stead lends its heritage touch to the shoe with a full suede upper, soft leather Formstrip, and a custom lace tag all done up in rich, tactile finishes.
Each of the new kits comes in two versions: Authentic, made for peak performance and built with PUMA’s ultra-light ULTRAWEAVE fabric and sweat-wicking dryCELL tech, and Replica, made from at least 95% recycled materials as part of PUMA’s RE:FIBRE initiative.
With their cool-toned palette and elemental beauty, Iceland’s kits are early contenders for best dressed. As Stelpurnar Okkar (“Our Girls”) prepare to take the stage, they’ll be channelling the strength and serenity of their homeland and aiming to make history by pushing past their 2013 quarter-final finish, with a little help from a set that’s as bold and breathtaking as the landscape that inspired it.
The Home kit introduces a soft, icy blue, inspired by the country’s majestic glaciers. To play off its cool tones, we paired it with a steel-blue graphic print tee with a high neck that pops out beneath the jersey and a low-rise pair of denim shorts, for that laid-back tomboy energy, in a bermuda cut that is making a fashion comeback this season.
Inspired by the Northern Lights, the Away kit flows with undulating, irregular stripes that mimic the aurora in motion, arguably one of PUMA’s most striking designs this season. To mirror the magic, we styled it with a pair of creamy cotton tapered leg trousers and a cropped, button-up with subtle sparkles at the collar – think stargazing but make it the aurora borealis.
The Home look keeps things grounded with simple and sleek items: a metallic card holder that attaches at the hip does the trick to hold all essential items with hands-free ease, a pair of cushioned ankle socks in tonal blue match the jersey, and silver-tinted shades give just the right amount of nonchalance to the look.
The Away outfit steps it up a notch: a sculptural croissant bag in a matching monochrome adds texture, orange-hued sunglasses give a soft shading to the sun, and a silk scarf printed with geometric patterns and silver detailing finishes the whole look with a hint of polish.
