PUMA and German football club Borussia Moenchengladbach have a long history together and teamed up again in 2017 to stir up the Bundesliga and Champions League. This year, the club celebrates its 120th anniversary and PUMA designed a special jersey to mark the occasion. The players wore it during the Bundesliga top game on Saturday against RB Leipzig. Guess who won the match?

A single strike on Saturday secured three big points for Borussia Moenchengladbach against RB Leipzig (1:0). The victory for the PUMA club knocks Leipzig off top spot in the Bundesliga.

Perhaps this peak performance also had something to do with the beautiful jerseys the team wore on that day? We don’t know for sure.

PUMA and Borussia released this limited-edition anniversary kit to mark 120 years of the club. The anniversary shirt is limited to 1900 pieces, with each shirt individually numbered on the inside of the neckband. The club’s founding year as well as the iconic diamond crest shape, is placed on the center of the chest. Another detail is the expressive font that is used for the Borussia text on the upper back. The jock tag graphic features details about the club’s various domestic and international titles. Rounding off the look, the Bundesliga patch appears in a classy monochrome edition.

We cross our fingers for more successes this season. Gladbach is definitely in good shape and narrowly missed out on a memorable European win the other week, drawing 2-2 with Real Madrid after conceding two late goals.

Borussia Mönchengladbach and PUMA are a success story. From 1962 to 1992, Gladbach won pretty much every title in Europe. The final of the UEFA Cup 1975 against FC Twente is unforgettable. PUMA first equipped the “Foals” from 1967 to 1992 – the golden era of the club. In that period, Gladbach won five Bundesliga titles, two UEFA Cups and one domestic cup title.
