AFCON Update

The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is in full swing! As the group stage comes to a close in the Ivory Coast, it’s time for us to have a look at the six PUMA teams, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Ghana, and Guinea. Read how our teams have performed at this most prestigious football tournament, and what we can expect from them heading onto the knock-out stage!

🇨🇮 Ivory Coast 🇨🇮

The host nation has qualified for the knockout stages as a third-placed team despite a shocking defeat by Equatorial Guinea to round off Group A. They will face Senegal next in the round of 16.

🇲🇦 Morocco 🇲🇦

The pre-tournament favourites have lived up to their billing so far, winning all three of their group games to qualify for the knockout stages. They will face South Africa in the round of 16.

🇸🇳 Senegal 🇸🇳

The defending champions have also made it through to the knockout stages, winning all three of their group games. They will face host country Ivory Coast in the round of 16.

🇪🇬 Egypt 🇪🇬

The Pharaohs have drawn all three of their group games, but have done just enough to qualify for the knockout stages. They will face DR Congo in the round of 16.

🇬🇳 Guinea 🇬🇳

The Syli Nationale managed to enter the knockout round despite their inconsistent results in this year’s TotalEnergies CAF AFCON. As their groups 3rd placed team, they will face Equitorial Guinea in the round of sixteen.

🇬🇭 Ghana 🇬🇭

The Black Stars have failed to win any of their three group games and have sadly crashed out of the competition.
