PUMA extends contract with FC Shakhtar

Hooray to 5 more years! PUMA and Ukrainian football team FC Shakhtar have extended their contract until 2031. With the partnership starting in 2021, PUMA and FC Shakhtar are looking forward to five more years of success together.

In the 2022/23 season, all three sets of the team’s pro kit received updates, incorporating fresh design elements and enhanced functionality. The new kit will be released in July 2024 and will integrate the development of the club’s sporting traditions and latest technologies.

Shakhtar is the best performing team in Ukraine, regularly competing in the Champions League and the EU League, and their mission is to promote Ukrainian football in Europe.

During their visit to our PUMA HQ in Herzogenaurach, FC Shakhtar CEO, Serhiy Palkin, and the club’s Commercial Director, Dmytro Kirilenko, emphasised the alignment of both brands’ visions and the exciting prospects for joint development.

PUMA Team Shakhtar Donetsk plays friendlies to raise money for Ukraine

As the conflict in Ukraine continues, Ukrainian football club Shakhtar Donetsk decided to raise money for its home country in a series of friendly matches with other top clubs around Europe. The Ukrainian league is currently suspended and the fighting also reached the outskirts of the capital city of Kyiv, where Shakhtar’s training ground is. One round even struck the team’s training pitch. Luckily, nobody was hurt. “We really want to thank PUMA, which has helped us enormously during these times and quickly supplied us with products in this difficult situation,” said Dmitry Kyrylenko, Commercial Director at Shakhtar Donetsk.

Now we are back and once again support the 2009 UEFA Cup Winners. The presentation of the new kit for the “Miners” has been scheduled to coincide with the start of the 2021/22 season. Stay tuned!
