Wearing PUMA’s FAST-R NITRO Elite 3 running shoe, Germany’s Domenika Mayer came in eighth and finished in 02:23:16, improving her personal best. Poland’s Aleksandra Lisowska, who came in 11th, went one step further and not only improved her own personal best but also improved her country’s national record with a time of 2:24:59.

Just shy of his PB performance with a time of 2:09:14, PUMA-athlete Hendrik Pfeiffer came in 8th in Berlin as the best German male athlete at the event.

The Berlin marathon is one of the biggest running events in the world, as 55,000 runners participated on Sunday. It was a great opportunity for PUMA to show off its performance running shoes based on our leading NITRO-Technology.

With its very flat terrain and few sharp turns, it’s also one of the fastest marathon courses, passing by major landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate, the German parliament and the city’s many vibrant neighborhoods. This year, the event was particularly challenging for the runners with high temperatures and humidity.
