Fixing instead of Ditching

Fast fashion, overconsumption and the current throwaway culture have taken a great toll on our planet. A significant step we can take is to find ways to extend the lifespan of our clothes by keeping them fresh longer. The Waste and Resources Action Programme (WRAP, 2024) report estimates that extending the lifespan of garments by just nine months could reduce carbon, water, and waste footprints by 20%, helping save £5 billion in resources per year.

So, it’s safe to assume that repair is the foundation for a future in circular fashion!

Our Goal?

A survey led by the EU Commission (2018) found that while 62% – 83% of consumers were very willing to repair their products, they found several barriers to this, such as accessibility, time and effort required. Which is why we launched PUMA RE:HACKS, a short-video formatted series created by PUMA’s Voices of a RE:GENERATION, which focuses on teaching simple, quick and accessible hacks on how to keep your clothes and kicks looking fresh for longer.
