PUMA launches footwear inspired by the Great American Eclipse

It hasn’t happen for the last 99 years: A full eclipse that will cross the United States from the Pacific to the Atlantic. But today it’s that time again.

The sun, moon and earth are all aligning for the cosmic phenomenon that got everyone talking: the Great American Eclipse. For about two minutes, there will be complete darkness at different spots in the US, with the eclipse starting its journey in Oregon and crossing into South Carolina about an hour and a half later. And even some other countries outside the States will have the opportunity to view the full eclipse while the rest of the world can enjoy a partial eclipse.

Infected with the Great American Eclipse fever and inspired by this rare spectacular sight and astronomical event, PUMA has launched three key footwear silhouettes with eclipse-themed details, including subtle reflective details, solar-inspired prints and themed insoles.

They dropped in stores on August 17 and offered the perfect opportunity to get in the right mood for the event.

Inspired by the natural phenomenon, this unique Clyde Sock has a reflective leather on both the lateral and medial side completed with a black knitted sock, laces and outsole.

The TSUGI Blaze features a mesh and neoprene material combination with suede overlays, as well as a reflective molded foam structure and a printed sock liner, representing the different phases of the eclipse.

The Blaze Cage features a fully evoKNIT upper wrapped into a reflective cage, as well as a translucent outsole and printed sock line representing the different phases of the eclipse.

Boasting a cosmic all-over print finished with a bold PUMA reflective logo on the front, the Solar Eclipse tee is a nod to the upcoming natural phenomenon. Available in two colourways.
