Mais cela ne suffit pas. Vous \u00eates mis \u00e0 l'\u00e9preuve, encore et encore. Ce n'est qu'\u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0 que l'on d\u00e9couvre si l'on est vraiment r\u00e9sistant : si l'on se rel\u00e8ve apr\u00e8s une d\u00e9faite, si l'on continue apr\u00e8s une blessure, si l'on continue \u00e0 croire en soi quand les autres n'y croient pas. Le sport n'est pas juste. La vie non plus. La r\u00e9silience n'est pas un superpouvoir, c'est un \u00e9tat d'esprit.<br><br><strong>Jonathan :<\/strong> La r\u00e9silience est devenue un mot \u00e0 la mode. \u00c0 l'\u00e9poque, les gens disaient simplement : \"Continuez comme \u00e7a\". Mais derri\u00e8re ce mot se cache un syst\u00e8me de valeurs : ne pas abandonner, se relever, aider les autres, continuer - m\u00eame quand \u00e7a fait mal. Et ce n'est pas quelque chose que l'on construit seul. Elle se d\u00e9veloppe gr\u00e2ce aux liens, \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9. Avec le recul, je dirais que je ne suis pas n\u00e9e r\u00e9siliente : Je ne suis pas n\u00e9e r\u00e9siliente. Je le suis devenu.<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div ><span class=\"interviewq\"><strong>Lorsque vous regardez en arri\u00e8re aujourd'hui, vous souvenez-vous davantage des moments forts ou du travail acharn\u00e9 ?<\/strong><\/span><strong>Colin :<\/strong> Le travail acharn\u00e9 \u00e9tait la base, mais avec le recul, ce sont les moments o\u00f9 tout s'est enclench\u00e9 qui restent grav\u00e9s dans ma m\u00e9moire. Quand votre corps r\u00e9agit, que votre esprit est calme, que votre rythme est bon. Ce ne sont que des fractions de seconde, mais elles sont inoubliables. Le chemin \u00e9tait brutal. Parfois, je courais seul dans la neige \u00e0 Cardiff. Mais vous le faites pour ce moment unique. Et quand il arrive, la douleur dispara\u00eet.<br><br><strong>Jonathan :<\/strong> Je me souviens des deux, mais diff\u00e9remment. Les moments forts sont comme des balises : mon record du monde, la m\u00e9daille d'or. Mais c'est le travail qui se cache derri\u00e8re qui constitue la base sur laquelle on s'appuie. Et cela me manque parfois. La clart\u00e9. La simplicit\u00e9 d'\u00eatre un athl\u00e8te - pas de chaos, pas de surcharge. Le corps change. La technique \u00e9volue. Vous changez et vous devez constamment adapter votre entra\u00eenement. Ce qui m'a motiv\u00e9, ce n'est pas l'id\u00e9e des m\u00e9dailles, c'est la volont\u00e9 de m'am\u00e9liorer.<br><br><strong>Colin :<\/strong> Pour moi, c'\u00e9tait la discipline. J'\u00e9tais tr\u00e8s structur\u00e9 : des routines fixes, peu de marge de man\u0153uvre. Je ne crois pas \u00e0 la motivation comme condition pr\u00e9alable - je crois \u00e0 la pr\u00e9paration. Si je devais \u00eatre sur la piste \u00e0 7h30, j'\u00e9tais l\u00e0 \u00e0 7h20. Toujours. Mais je savais aussi que l'on ne peut pas tout contr\u00f4ler, et c'est l\u00e0 que la capacit\u00e9 d'adaptation entre en jeu. Qu'est-ce qui vous a aid\u00e9 \u00e0 la surmonter ?<\/span>Colin :<\/strong> L'esprit \u00e9tait le plus grand adversaire. Il y a eu des moments o\u00f9 j'\u00e9tais physiquement au top, mais o\u00f9 j'\u00e9tais \u00e9motionnellement \u00e9puis\u00e9. Vous vous entra\u00eenez comme un fou, vous \u00eates tr\u00e8s performant \u00e0 l'entra\u00eenement, puis la grande course arrive et vous n'\u00eates pas \u00e0 la hauteur. Ce qui m'a permis de tenir, c'est ma routine.<br><br><strong>Jonathan :<\/strong> J'\u00e9tais souvent tr\u00e8s nerveuse avant les concours. Cette voix int\u00e9rieure me disait : \"Tu n'es pas assez bon : Tu n'es pas assez bon. Tu vas \u00e9chouer. Je n'ai jamais pens\u00e9 : Je vais gagner. Mais avec le temps, j'ai appris que ces pens\u00e9es font partie de moi et ne sont pas mes ennemies. Et j'ai su qu'une fois au bout de la piste d'atterrissage, j'arriverais \u00e0 mes fins. Le moment lui-m\u00eame \u00e9tait g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement tr\u00e8s clair.<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div ><strong><span class=\"interviewq\">Votre retraite du sport de comp\u00e9tition a-t-elle \u00e9t\u00e9 une rupture nette ou plut\u00f4t une transition progressive ? A-t-il \u00e9t\u00e9 difficile de l\u00e2cher prise ?<\/span>Colin :<\/strong> Pour le monde ext\u00e9rieur, cela ressemblait \u00e0 une rupture nette. J'\u00e9tais encore en comp\u00e9tition \u00e0 l'\u00e9t\u00e9 2002 - et soudain, je me suis retrouv\u00e9e sur le bord de la piste avec un micro, alors que Jonathan \u00e9tait encore en train de sauter. Je me souviens clairement de ce moment : le costume, le micro - mais \u00e0 l'int\u00e9rieur, c'\u00e9tait un processus. L'identit\u00e9 que vous avez construite au fil des d\u00e9cennies ne dispara\u00eet pas du jour au lendemain. Certains jours, je souhaitais simplement pouvoir m'entra\u00eener \u00e0 nouveau. Pas de micro, pas de m\u00e9dias, pas de doutes.<br><br><strong>Jonathan :<\/strong> Je peux tout \u00e0 fait comprendre. J'avais 37 ans, j'avais tout accompli - et j'ai eu une blessure qui m'a dit : c'est fini. En fait, j'avais pr\u00e9vu de continuer jusqu'en 2004. Ce qui m'a aid\u00e9, c'est la perspective : la BBC s'est montr\u00e9e int\u00e9ress\u00e9e, je pouvais rester dans le jeu, mais dans un r\u00f4le diff\u00e9rent. Puis il y a eu la candidature de Londres aux Jeux olympiques - c'\u00e9tait \u00e9norme. Je ne suis pas tomb\u00e9e dans un trou, et j'en suis reconnaissante. Mais oui, tout \u00e0 coup, le silence s'est install\u00e9. J'ai d\u00fb m'habituer \u00e0 vivre avec moins d'adr\u00e9naline.<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_2b\" ><strong><span class=\"interviewq\">Avez-vous ressenti le besoin de vous r\u00e9inventer apr\u00e8s votre carri\u00e8re - ou avez-vous \u00e9t\u00e9 en mesure de transf\u00e9rer vos points forts dans le chapitre suivant ?<\/span>Colin :<\/strong> Un peu des deux. J'ai emport\u00e9 beaucoup de choses avec moi : la discipline, la structure, la pr\u00e9paration. Mais j'ai d\u00fb acqu\u00e9rir de nouvelles comp\u00e9tences. Parler devant un large public, par exemple. Parler librement, sans script, devant des cam\u00e9ras. J'\u00e9tais un athl\u00e8te, pas un orateur. J'ai d\u00fb apprendre cela en partant de z\u00e9ro. Si vous voulez quelque chose de nouveau, vous devez \u00e9voluer<br><br><strong>Jonathan :<\/strong> En tant qu'athl\u00e8te, on se perfectionne constamment : on \u00e9coute les entra\u00eeneurs, on analyse la technique, on travaille sur les d\u00e9tails. C'est cet \u00e9tat d'esprit - ne pas tout savoir, mais \u00eatre pr\u00eat \u00e0 apprendre - que j'ai gard\u00e9 avec moi. Je n'ai jamais eu l'impression de devoir me r\u00e9inventer. If I had to be on the track at 7:30, I was there at 7:20. Always. But I also knew: you can\\u0026rsquo;t control everything \\u0026ndash; and that\\u0026rsquo;s where adaptability comes in. But over time, I learned: these thoughts are part of me \\u0026ndash; not my enemy. And I knew: once I\\u0026rsquo;m at the end of the runway \\u0026ndash; I\\u0026rsquo;ll deliver. I was still competing in summer 2002 \\u0026ndash; then suddenly standing trackside with a mic, while Jonathan was still jumping. I remember that moment clearly: suit, microphone \\u0026ndash; but inside, it was a process. The identity you\\u0026rsquo;ve built over decades doesn\\u0026rsquo;t vanish overnight. Some days, I just wished I could train again. No mic, no media, no doubts.\\u0026lt;br\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;Jonathan:\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt; I can completely relate. I was 37, had achieved everything \\u0026ndash; and had an injury that told me: this is it. I\\u0026rsquo;d actually planned to continue until 2004. What helped was perspective: the BBC showed interest, I could stay in the game \\u0026ndash; just in a different role. Then came London\\u0026rsquo;s Olympic bid \\u0026ndash; that was huge. I didn\\u0026rsquo;t fall into a hole, and I\\u0026rsquo;m grateful for that. But yes \\u0026ndash; suddenly, there was silence.
