Dans les ann\u00e9es 80, il a travaill\u00e9 avec PUMA, qui lui a fourni ses chaussures et, plus tard, ses combinaisons. Pour un pied normal, cela aurait pu \u00eatre un d\u00e9tail mineur. Pour un pilote de course en monoplace dans les ann\u00e9es 80, c'\u00e9tait un probl\u00e8me, car les voitures \u00e9taient loin d'\u00eatre les machines hautement automatis\u00e9es que nous voyons aujourd'hui. \u00c0 l'\u00e9poque, pour freiner avant un virage, il fallait r\u00e9trograder, appuyer sur l'embrayage, appuyer sur l'acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur, r\u00e9gler la bo\u00eete de vitesses et stabiliser la voiture, le tout dans un espace de quelques centim\u00e8tres dans l'espace r\u00e9serv\u00e9 aux pieds. La chaussure \u00e9tait donc l'un des outils les plus importants dont disposait le conducteur.<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_default\" >Il suffit \u00e0 Christian de quelques phrases, et soudain, vous n'\u00eates plus dans une salle de r\u00e9union \u00e0 Herzogenaurach, mais dans le cockpit d'une monoplace des ann\u00e9es 1980. Trois p\u00e9dales, un cockpit \u00e9troit, un frein qui demande une force importante, un acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur qu'il faut actionner bri\u00e8vement au bon moment. \u201cBlip, blip\u201d, dit Christian, en pla\u00e7ant ses mains l'une sur l'autre pour montrer le peu d'espace entre le frein, l'embrayage et l'acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur.<\/div>\n   <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnNarrow spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_quote\" >\u201dIl fallait une chaussure avec une semelle tr\u00e8s stable.\u201c<\/div>\n   <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_default\" >\u201cAujourd'hui, il n'y a que deux p\u00e9dales, l'acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur et le frein, et tout le reste se passe ici\u201d, explique-t-il. \u201cNous avions trois p\u00e9dales et une v\u00e9ritable bo\u00eete de vitesses. Premi\u00e8re, deuxi\u00e8me, troisi\u00e8me, quatri\u00e8me vitesse - et puis on redescend et on remonte\u201d. \u00c0 premi\u00e8re vue, il s'agit d'une explication technique. Avec Danner, cela devient un mouvement physique.\u00a0<br><br>C'est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment pour cette raison que Christian avait besoin d'une chaussure qui l'accompagne. \u201cIl fallait une chaussure avec une semelle tr\u00e8s stable\u201d, explique-t-il. En appuyant sur l'acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur, le pied droit travaille toujours au m\u00eame endroit, envoyant la charge directement dans la semelle. \u201cOn fait pratiquement un trou au milieu de la chaussure. Le pied gauche avait la t\u00e2che plus facile : il poussait l'embrayage. Le pied droit devait freiner et acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer - en travaillant constamment \u00e0 la limite.<\/div>\n   <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnNarrow spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_quote\" >\u201cJe voulais \u00eatre impliqu\u00e9. Christian savait exactement ce dont il avait besoin : une chaussure bien ajust\u00e9e, stable et qui transf\u00e8re directement le contact avec la p\u00e9dale. Dans une voiture de formule des ann\u00e9es 80, cela faisait partie du contr\u00f4le. Pour PUMA, il s'agissait d'une entr\u00e9e directe dans le sport automobile. Pendant longtemps, les chaussures pour pilotes de course provenaient principalement d'ateliers sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s, souvent fabriqu\u00e9es \u00e0 la main, mais rarement d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re syst\u00e9matique du point de vue du pilote : Que se passe-t-il au freinage ? O\u00f9 le pied travaille-t-il ? Quel est l'espace entre les p\u00e9dales ? Quelle doit \u00eatre la rigidit\u00e9 de la semelle ? Quel doit \u00eatre le degr\u00e9 d'ajustement de la chaussure ?<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnNarrow spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_quote\" >\u201c\u00c0 l'\u00e9poque, les mat\u00e9riaux modernes n'existaient pas. Il y avait du cuir, du caoutchouc et des lacets\u201d.\u201d<\/div>\n   <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_default\" >Aujourd'hui comme hier, le retour d'information est essentiel chez PUMA pour d\u00e9velopper les meilleurs produits possibles afin d'aider les athl\u00e8tes \u00e0 donner le meilleur d'eux-m\u00eames.  Christian a apport\u00e9 de pr\u00e9cieuses informations de l'int\u00e9rieur du cockpit, quelque chose que les concepteurs ne peuvent comprendre qu'en \u00e9changeant avec le conducteur : en sentant la p\u00e9dale. Il a expliqu\u00e9 comment la semelle se comporte dans la voiture, o\u00f9 elle est charg\u00e9e, pourquoi elle doit rester stable. PUMA a apport\u00e9 son expertise en mati\u00e8re de d\u00e9veloppement de chaussures : coupe, mat\u00e9riau, construction, ajustement. Les choix de mat\u00e9riaux \u00e9tant limit\u00e9s \u00e0 l'\u00e9poque - cuir, caoutchouc, lacets - la construction de la chaussure devait \u00eatre parfaite.\u00a0<br><br>Le premier prototype \u00e9tait agr\u00e9able \u00e0 porter : souple, g\u00e9n\u00e9reusement coup\u00e9 - mais finalement un peu trop de tout. Dans la voiture de course, la chaussure manquait donc de pr\u00e9cision. Elle a donc \u00e9t\u00e9 aff\u00fbt\u00e9e. Plus serr\u00e9e. Plus stable. Plus directe.<br> \u00a0<br>C'est l\u00e0 que l'importance de la collaboration avec le pilote est apparue clairement : comme une boucle de r\u00e9troaction entre le pilote et le fabricant. Christian a test\u00e9, expliqu\u00e9, critiqu\u00e9. PUMA s'est adapt\u00e9. Les connaissances des experts se sont transform\u00e9es en d\u00e9veloppement. Une combinaison de course devait durer toute une saison, \u00e9tait lav\u00e9e apr\u00e8s le week-end et port\u00e9e \u00e0 nouveau lors de la course suivante. Les chaussures, elles aussi, \u00e9taient des mat\u00e9riaux de travail. \u201cJ'avais deux paires de chaussures pour toute l'ann\u00e9e\u201d, raconte Danner. \u201cEt c'\u00e9tait suffisant. Une paire rouge et une paire bleue, je crois. Au lieu de changer de couleur \u00e0 chaque course, une chose comptait avant tout : il fallait que cela fonctionne dans le cockpit.<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_default\" >Christian est rest\u00e9 fid\u00e8le \u00e0 PUMA tout au long de ses ann\u00e9es de Formule 1. Il a couru avec PUMA au Japon, en Formule 1 et dans d'autres s\u00e9ries de courses. Il a port\u00e9 les chaussures, les combinaisons ainsi que les v\u00eatements de sport d\u00e9contract\u00e9s de la marque : polos, pulls, v\u00eatements de sport. Aujourd'hui encore, cet athl\u00e8te exceptionnel est actif dans le sport automobile en tant qu'expert, commentateur, consultant et animateur de r\u00e9seau.\u00a0<br><br>La bonne chaussure ne change rien \u00e0 la physique. Mais elle permet de d\u00e9terminer \u00e0 quel point le pilote peut ressentir la voiture.
