D\u00e8s 2006, l'entreprise a int\u00e9gr\u00e9 une plaque en carbone dans la chaussure de football v1.06, bien avant que le carbone ne soit consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme un moteur de performance dans la course \u00e0 pied. \u00c0 l'\u00e9poque, il ne s'agissait pas de records, mais de poids, de stabilit\u00e9 et de r\u00e9partition de la pression. Le carbone \u00e9tait le premier mat\u00e9riau suffisamment rigide pour offrir un soutien suppl\u00e9mentaire sans ajouter de poids. \u201c Le carbone offre le meilleur rapport poids\/rigidit\u00e9. Il permet de fabriquer des produits extr\u00eamement rigides sans les alourdir \u201d, explique Hartmann. Pour les footballeurs, cela signifiait plus de stabilit\u00e9 sans encombrement suppl\u00e9mentaire et, surtout, une r\u00e9partition plus uniforme de la pression sous les crampons. L'orientation de ces fibres d\u00e9termine la mani\u00e8re dont les forces sont absorb\u00e9es et restitu\u00e9es. \u201c Les plastiques traditionnels deviennent moins performants avec le temps. Ils se d\u00e9forment, perdent leur tension et ne reviennent pas compl\u00e8tement \u00e0 leur position d'origine \u201d, explique-t-il.
