Swap 'Til You Drop: Our
FOREVER. BETTER. SWAP SHOP
How our Herzo PUMAs gave old fits a fresh start.
May 29, 2025How our Herzo PUMAs gave old fits a fresh start.
May 29, 2025Our SWAP SHOP wasn’t just about the clothes. It was about changing habits, starting conversations, and proving that style and sustainability can go hand in hand.
We turned our NOHO hallway into a buzzing hub of circularity with our FOREVER. BETTER. Swap Shop; where PUMAs gathered to exchange their gently-worn PUMA apparel, footwear and accessories for new pre-loved items. With over 620 items dropped and swapped, this was not just a stylish success but a big step toward making sustainable choices part of our everyday culture at PUMA.

INSIDER’S PEEK: PLANNING A SWAP SHOP
WHY IT MATTERS
According to a 2019 report, the consumption of clothing and footwear is expected to increase by 63% by 2030?! As we know, in the apparel industry fast fashion often moves faster than we can keep up and leads to overconsumption. That’s why sustainable initiatives like the SWAP SHOP are more than just feel-good events– they’re essential.
WE ASKED SOME FELLOW PUMA COLLEAGUES TO SHARE THEIR THOUGHTS
What brought you to the SWAP SHOP?
A P&O colleague answered,
“I’ve been to past Swap Shops before and absolutely love the concept of giving a second life to PUMA pieces I’ve rarely or never even worn. It’s a great feeling to know they might find a new home with someone who’ll truly enjoy them. And I love the chance to pick up some pre-loved PUMA items from others in return. It’s like our very own version of second-hand shopping, so I love the idea.”
What is your favorite thing about events such as these?
A PUMA from the sustainability team shared,
“I love the swap shop events because they make people look through clothes they haven’t worn in a while or don’t use anymore, and really reflect on whether they truly need them, and doing so, rethink their relationship with consumption. It’s such a lovely way to let things go and let someone else enjoy them.”
What tips would you give to someone trying to build a more sustainable wardrobe?
A PLM Sportstyle employee stated,
“I’d say before adding anything new to your closet, pause and ask yourself: Do I really need this? Often, the most sustainable choice is to simply appreciate what you already own. It’s important to reconnect with your clothes, restyle them, and rediscover their value.”
Can you share your perspective on how events like SWAP SHOPs can help promote sustainable consumption?
A member from the Archive team noted,
“Swap Shops are all about giving old things new life and making sustainability a shared commitment, not a sacrifice.”
THE TAKEAWAY
The success of the PUMA Herzo SWAP SHOP proves that small actions can spark big change. Events like these show how we can all take steps toward a more circular, conscious future-together.
So next time you open your wardrobe, think about the potential each piece holds- not just for you, but maybe for someone else too.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this FOREVER. BETTER. SWAP SHOP a success and brought PUMA one step closer to becoming FOREVER. BETTER.
