Ese fue el comienzo de mi primer blog -y campa\u00f1a viral- que combinaba moda y activismo y se centraba en c\u00f3mo est\u00e1n sufriendo las mujeres en el mundo actual. Seguimos trabajando con marcas de todo el mundo, en India, y con socios de Responsabilidad Social Corporativa y organizaciones no gubernamentales. En 2020, me incorpor\u00e9 como embajadora de los Objetivos Mundiales de la ONU para el Objetivo 10, seguido del Objetivo 5 y todo lo relacionado con la moda, la sostenibilidad y el activismo. Seguimos combinando y tendiendo puentes entre estas tres cosas y seguimos llegando a m\u00e1s gente.<br\/>\n<br\/>Mi viaje ha sido todo un reto: cuando vienes de un pa\u00eds como la India, hay una menor comprensi\u00f3n de lo que la moda puede hacer en t\u00e9rminos de activismo. O es activismo o es moda, combinar las dos cosas significa que est\u00e1s haciendo algo fr\u00edvolo: hay una mentalidad general estereotipada de que la moda es una industria fr\u00edvola. <strong>Entonces, \u00bfc\u00f3mo puede una influencer de moda hablar de ataques con \u00e1cido, agresiones sexuales, injusticias sociales, ingresos justos o derechos laborales?<\/strong> Fue una pregunta dif\u00edcil de responder durante muchos a\u00f1os. All\u00e1 donde iba, la gente me dec\u00eda que o te dedicas a la moda o te conviertes en una ONG social o en un trabajador social. <strong>La gente no estaba dispuesta a aceptar que se pod\u00edan hacer ambas cosas.<\/strong> Me alegro de que hayamos llegado a un punto en el que el activismo de la moda se considera una industria paralela a la de la moda.<br\/>\n<br\/><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 le impuls\u00f3 a dedicarse a la sostenibilidad?<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Aishwarya: El derrumbe del Rana Plaza en Bangladesh en 2013 fue una llamada de atenci\u00f3n para el mundo y para m\u00ed. Recuerdo que por aquel entonces estudiaba en el instituto y todos los canales de noticias lo cubrieron. Se cobr\u00f3 m\u00e1s de 1100 vidas. No dej\u00e1bamos de preguntarnos, <strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 son estas f\u00e1bricas? \u00bfC\u00f3mo puede derrumbarse una f\u00e1brica?<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>En aquella \u00e9poca no conoc\u00edamos los derechos laborales ni las condiciones de salud y de trabajo, especialmente en la industria de la moda, as\u00ed que empec\u00e9 a investigar mucho. Le\u00ed mucho y empec\u00e9 a entender lo que Bangladesh y los activistas de Bangladesh defend\u00edan, y al parecer llevaban a\u00f1os defendiendo el cambio y nunca aparec\u00eda en las noticias. Lo \u00fanico que aparec\u00eda en las noticias era que la f\u00e1brica se hab\u00eda derrumbado. Fue necesaria la p\u00e9rdida de tantas personas para que este asunto apareciera en los titulares.<br\/>\n<br\/>Mi relaci\u00f3n con la sostenibilidad empez\u00f3 mucho antes de que me diera cuenta de lo que era. Se ha convertido en una comprensi\u00f3n <strong>no podemos vivir sin reducir nuestro impacto sobre el planeta.<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 tema de sostenibilidad es crucial para usted?<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Aishwarya: De adolescente estaba obsesionada con las revistas de moda. Quer\u00eda estar a la \u00faltima, pero pronto cambi\u00e9 a lo que es bueno para m\u00ed y no al glamour de la moda r\u00e1pida. Ahora, <strong>se entiende que queremos ce\u00f1irnos a nuestro propio estilo, que nos define y adem\u00e1s reduce nuestro impacto global en el planeta.<\/strong> No sigas ciegamente las tendencias. Casi el 50% de mi audiencia o seguidores son mujeres de edades comprendidas entre los 18 y los 26 a\u00f1os, quiero que alguien que tenga 18 a\u00f1os y me siga sepa que tiene que ce\u00f1irse a su propio estilo y no ceder a las tendencias. Quiero cambiar toda la conversaci\u00f3n porque no quiero que m\u00e1s chicas se vean atrapadas en lo que yo me vi atrapada cuando ten\u00eda 17 a\u00f1os. <strong>Quiero que sean ellos mismos.<\/strong><br\/>\n<\/div>\n   <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_2b\" ><br\/><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1l considera que ha sido su mayor logro?<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Aishwarya: Creo que mi mayor logro, de la forma m\u00e1s sencilla, es haber conseguido un n\u00famero considerable de seguidores incluso haciendo algo poco convencional. Mientras que la mayor\u00eda de mis compa\u00f1eros de mi edad se dedicaban a escribir blogs de moda como carrera a tiempo completo, yo busqu\u00e9 formas de que el blog de moda fuera diferente. Cuando quieres hacer algo poco convencional, siempre tienes miedo a fracasar. As\u00ed que me arriesgu\u00e9 e hice lo que quer\u00eda porque quer\u00eda ayudar a la gente a trav\u00e9s de mi plataforma. En India no hay muchas oportunidades para los activistas de la moda y la gente ni siquiera entiende qu\u00e9 es esto. En los \u00faltimos cuatro a\u00f1os, el mero hecho de entenderlo ha cambiado las cosas, y ahora en la India la gente y las marcas son m\u00e1s conscientes.<br\/>\n<br\/>Lo que hago se centra en los derechos humanos, en las mujeres y en la sostenibilidad, as\u00ed que convertirme en embajadora de los objetivos mundiales de la ONU es otro gran logro para m\u00ed. En 2021 me pidieron que presidiera la Coordinadora de la India para el Acuerdo de Paz Global. Viniendo del Sur Global, estar en estos consejos es realmente importante porque el Sur Global es el m\u00e1s susceptible al cambio clim\u00e1tico. <strong>Podemos verlo ocurrir justo delante de nosotros, no es una conversaci\u00f3n lejana, es nuestra realidad cotidiana.<\/strong> <strong>Es importante tomar la iniciativa y estar unidos en nuestra lucha contra el cambio clim\u00e1tico y poner sobre la mesa soluciones cre\u00edbles y exigir m\u00e1s.<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Con todo esto, me hace feliz que la gente entienda el valor de que una activista de la moda est\u00e9 incluso en estos foros, especialmente cuando en el pasado me cuestionaron lo que intentaba hacer con mi plataforma. Siento que, junto con otros, he abierto el espacio para que me sigan m\u00e1s personas en todo el mundo.<br\/>\n<br\/><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 principios sigue en materia de sostenibilidad?<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Aishwarya: Guiarme por mi voz interior, por mi propia conciencia, y vivir de una forma que sea saludable para m\u00ed, no como me dicten los dem\u00e1s. Para los habitantes del Sur Global, la sostenibilidad es completamente diferente a la del resto del mundo porque vivimos en un estado de culpa constante. Vemos tantas cosas a nuestro alrededor que, aunque estoy agradecido por lo que tengo, me pregunto c\u00f3mo puedo hacer m\u00e1s con los recursos que tengo para ayudar a los dem\u00e1s. Hay un sentimiento de culpa constante si uno se entrega demasiado a cosas que sin duda son perjudiciales para otras personas, sobre todo si esas otras personas est\u00e1n justo delante de nosotros. Para nosotros, la gente afectada no es un n\u00famero imaginario: es la gente que est\u00e1 justo a nuestro lado.<br\/>\n<br\/><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo piensa utilizar su plataforma con PUMA para ayudar a que el mundo de la moda sea m\u00e1s sostenible?<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Aishwarya: Si nos fijamos en PUMA, est\u00e1n dispuestos a ser m\u00e1s transparentes, est\u00e1n dispuestos a tener esas conversaciones dif\u00edciles diciendo \u201csabemos que no somos la mejor marca cuando se trata de tener las mejores iniciativas sostenibles, pero estamos tratando de hacerlo mejor\u201d. Est\u00e1n comprometidos con muchas iniciativas de sostenibilidad y est\u00e1n sucediendo muchas cosas a nivel mundial. Mi asociaci\u00f3n con ellos es especial porque lo que llevo a\u00f1os defendiendo puede tener una mayor difusi\u00f3n gracias a nuestra colaboraci\u00f3n, y ayudar a que la moda sea m\u00e1s sostenible.<br\/>\n<br\/>Es m\u00e1s complejo de lo que podemos plasmar en un papel, pero si una empresa puede hacerlo, quiz\u00e1 otras tambi\u00e9n puedan. El objetivo es reducir nuestra huella en el planeta. C\u00f3mo lo hagas como marca, como empresa individual, como organizaci\u00f3n, seas quien seas, en cualquier parte del mundo, va a ser un mensaje para todos de que podemos trabajar juntos. <strong>El mundo ser\u00eda un lugar mejor si colabor\u00e1ramos m\u00e1s y compiti\u00e9ramos menos.<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 espera conseguir como nueva Voz de una RE:GENERACI\u00d3N de PUMA?<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Aishwarya: Definitivamente, m\u00e1s impacto social, una mayor conciencia digital para que podamos difundir nuestros mensajes de sostenibilidad a nivel mundial. PUMA atiende a millones, si no miles de millones de personas en todo el mundo, y la concienciaci\u00f3n sobre la sostenibilidad es muy importante. Como joven activista del clima, como persona apasionada por el cambio, esta va a ser una plataforma global para llegar a otras personas y mostrar que el activismo de la moda es el camino del futuro; la sostenibilidad es el camino del futuro. Que podemos unirnos para hacer las cosas mejor porque el poder de la gente es incre\u00edble. Una persona multiplicada por millones de personas que piensan igual y hacen las mismas cosas en torno a la acci\u00f3n clim\u00e1tica en t\u00e9rminos de encontrar soluciones y ser m\u00e1s sostenibles, tiene un impacto masivo\". Como nueva voz RE:GENERATION de PUMA, especialmente de la India y del Sur Global, creo que va a ser una gran oportunidad para m\u00ed participar en el proceso y ver las cosas desde una perspectiva diferente.<strong> Espero conseguir la paz a trav\u00e9s de la moda y la sostenibilidad.<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 consejos tiene para las personas que quieren vestir de forma m\u00e1s sostenible?<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Aishwarya: La sostenibilidad empieza en casa. T\u00fa puedes poner de tu parte. Porque incluso si eliges volver a ponerte el mismo vestido o la misma camisa o el mismo sari diez veces m\u00e1s, mantiene su ciclo de vida renovado, no se acaba. Creo que volver a usarlo es lo \u00faltimo en sostenibilidad en t\u00e9rminos de moda.  Adem\u00e1s, est\u00e1 el upcycling y el reciclaje. <strong>Siempre puedes volver a ponerte algo y que quede bien. No hay que dejarse llevar por la mentalidad de que si no tengo m\u00e1s, la gente pensar\u00e1 que no tengo m\u00e1s. Eso es exactamente lo que quieres que piensen, que no tienes m\u00e1s. No m\u00e1s de m\u00e1s es la pol\u00edtica. Si te pones un vestido cinco veces m\u00e1s, debes estar orgullosa y eso es lo que te hace guay. Seg\u00fan la nueva ola, la nueva Gen Z, los j\u00f3venes, eso te hace guay, te hace consciente y hace que te respetemos m\u00e1s.<\/strong><br\/>\n<\/div>\n   <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_default\" ><p><strong>\u00bfQui\u00e9n es Aishwarya Sharma?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>Aishwarya:<\/u> Me llamo Aishwarya Sharma, soy la primera activista de la moda de la India y Embajadora de los Objetivos Mundiales de la ONU. That was the beginning of my first ever blog \\u0026ndash; and viral campaign \\u0026ndash; which combined fashion and activism and focused on how women are suffering in the world today. We kept working with brands all around the world, in India, and Corporate Social Responsibility partners and non-governmental organisations. In 2020, I joined as a UN global goal ambassador for goal ten, followed by goal five and anything focused on fashion, sustainability and activism. We kept combining and bridging the gap between these three things and kept reaching more people.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;My journey has been super challenging: when you come from a country like India, there is a lesser understanding of what fashion can do in terms of activism. Either it is activism or it is fashion, combining the two means you are doing something frivolous: there\\u0026rsquo;s a general stereotypical mindset that fashion is a frivolous industry. \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;So how can a fashion influencer talk about acid attacks, sexual assault, social injustices, fair income or labour rights?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt; That was a challenging question to answer for many years. Wherever I went, people would say you can either become a person in fashion or you become a social NGO or a social worker. \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;People were not ready to accept that you could do both.\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt; I\\u0026rsquo;m happy that we have come to a point where fashion activism is being considered as a parallel industry to the fashion industry.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;What prompted you to become involved in sustainability?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Aishwarya: The Rana Plaza collapse in Bangladesh in 2013 was a wake up call for the world and for me. I remember I was studying in high school at that\\u0026nbsp; time and every news channel covered it. It claimed more than 1100 lives. We kept asking, \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;what are these factories? How can a factory just collapse?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;At that time, we were not aware of labour rights or health and working conditions, especially in the fashion industry, and so a lot of research really started then. I read a lot and I started to understand what Bangladesh and the activists in Bangladesh were advocating for, and apparently they were advocating for change for years and it wasn\\u0026rsquo;t ever covered in the news. The only thing in the news was that the factory collapsed. It took the loss of so many people for this issue to make headlines.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;My relationship with sustainability started way before I even realised what sustainability even is. It has developed into an understanding that \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;we cannot live without reducing our impact on the planet.\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;Which sustainability topic is crucially important for you?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Aishwarya: As a teenager, I had an obsession with fashion magazines. I wanted the newest trends, but that quickly changed to what\\u0026rsquo;s good for me rather than the glamorisation of fast fashion. Now, \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;there\\u0026rsquo;s an understanding that we want to stick to our own style, which defines us and also reduces our overall impact on the planet.\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt; Don\\u0026rsquo;t blindly follow trends. Almost 50% of my audience or followers are women from ages of 18-26, I want someone who is 18 and following me to know that she needs to stick to her own style and not give into trends. When you want to do something which is unconventional, there\\u0026rsquo;s always a fear of failing. So, I took the risk and I did what I wanted to do because I wanted to help people through my platform. In India, there are not a lot of opportunities for fashion activists and people don\\u0026rsquo;t even understand what this is. Just to create that understanding sort of changed the ball game in the past four years, and now in India today, people and brands are being more conscious.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;What I do focuses on human rights, on women and sustainability, so becoming a UN global goal ambassador is another huge achievement for me. In 2021, I was asked to chair the India Coordinator for Global Peace Accord. Coming from the Global South, being on these boards is really important because the Global South is the most susceptible to climate change. \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;We can see it happening right in front of us, it is a not distant conversation, it\\u0026rsquo;s our everyday reality.\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt; \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;It is important to take lead and be unified in our fight against climate change and to put credible solutions on the table and demand more.\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;With all of this, it makes me happy that people understand the value of a fashion activist to even be on these boards, especially when I was questioned on what I was trying to do with my platform in the past. There is constant guilt if you\\u0026rsquo;re indulging too much into things that are definitely harmful for other people, especially if those other people are right in front of us. That was the beginning of my first ever blog \\u0026ndash; and viral campaign \\u0026ndash; which combined fashion and activism and focused on how women are suffering in the world today. We kept working with brands all around the world, in India, and Corporate Social Responsibility partners and non-governmental organisations. In 2020, I joined as a UN global goal ambassador for goal ten, followed by goal five and anything focused on fashion, sustainability and activism. We kept combining and bridging the gap between these three things and kept reaching more people.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;My journey has been super challenging: when you come from a country like India, there is a lesser understanding of what fashion can do in terms of activism. Either it is activism or it is fashion, combining the two means you are doing something frivolous: there\\u0026rsquo;s a general stereotypical mindset that fashion is a frivolous industry. \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;So how can a fashion influencer talk about acid attacks, sexual assault, social injustices, fair income or labour rights?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt; That was a challenging question to answer for many years. Wherever I went, people would say you can either become a person in fashion or you become a social NGO or a social worker. \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;People were not ready to accept that you could do both.\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt; I\\u0026rsquo;m happy that we have come to a point where fashion activism is being considered as a parallel industry to the fashion industry.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;What prompted you to become involved in sustainability?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Aishwarya: The Rana Plaza collapse in Bangladesh in 2013 was a wake up call for the world and for me. I remember I was studying in high school at that\\u0026nbsp; time and every news channel covered it. It claimed more than 1100 lives. We kept asking, \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;what are these factories? How can a factory just collapse?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;At that time, we were not aware of labour rights or health and working conditions, especially in the fashion industry, and so a lot of research really started then. I read a lot and I started to understand what Bangladesh and the activists in Bangladesh were advocating for, and apparently they were advocating for change for years and it wasn\\u0026rsquo;t ever covered in the news. The only thing in the news was that the factory collapsed. It took the loss of so many people for this issue to make headlines.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;My relationship with sustainability started way before I even realised what sustainability even is. It has developed into an understanding that \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;we cannot live without reducing our impact on the planet.\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;Which sustainability topic is crucially important for you?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Aishwarya: As a teenager, I had an obsession with fashion magazines. I wanted the newest trends, but that quickly changed to what\\u0026rsquo;s good for me rather than the glamorisation of fast fashion. Now, \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;there\\u0026rsquo;s an understanding that we want to stick to our own style, which defines us and also reduces our overall impact on the planet.\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt; Don\\u0026rsquo;t blindly follow trends. Almost 50% of my audience or followers are women from ages of 18-26, I want someone who is 18 and following me to know that she needs to stick to her own style and not give into trends. I want to change the whole conversation because I don\\u0026rsquo;t want more girls to be caught up in what I was caught up with when I was 17. \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;I want them to be themselves.\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\",\"width\":\"Wide\",\"aspect\":\"0\",\"style\":\"2b\",\"firstletter\":\"\",\"gradient\":\"none\",\"spacing\":true,\"previewImage\":\"\",\"lock\":\"\",\"metadata\":\"\",\"className\":\"\",\"TrpContentRestriction\":{\"restriction_type\":\"exclude\",\"selected_languages\":[],\"panel_open\":true}} \/--><!-- wp:puma\/row-text-single {\"content\":\"\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;What would you consider your biggest achievement yet?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Aishwarya: I think my biggest achievement yet, in the simplest way, is how I was able to gain a considerable amount of followers even while I was doing something unconventional. While most of my peers my age were indulging in fashion blogging as a full-time career, I looked for ways that fashion blogging could be different. When you want to do something which is unconventional, there\\u0026rsquo;s always a fear of failing. So, I took the risk and I did what I wanted to do because I wanted to help people through my platform. In India, there are not a lot of opportunities for fashion activists and people don\\u0026rsquo;t even understand what this is. Just to create that understanding sort of changed the ball game in the past four years, and now in India today, people and brands are being more conscious.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;What I do focuses on human rights, on women and sustainability, so becoming a UN global goal ambassador is another huge achievement for me. In 2021, I was asked to chair the India Coordinator for Global Peace Accord. Coming from the Global South, being on these boards is really important because the Global South is the most susceptible to climate change. \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;We can see it happening right in front of us, it is a not distant conversation, it\\u0026rsquo;s our everyday reality.\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt; \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;It is important to take lead and be unified in our fight against climate change and to put credible solutions on the table and demand more.\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;With all of this, it makes me happy that people understand the value of a fashion activist to even be on these boards, especially when I was questioned on what I was trying to do with my platform in the past. I feel like I, alongside others, opened the space for more people globally to follow.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;What principles do you live by regarding sustainability?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Aishwarya: To be guided by my inner voice, by my own consciousness, and to live in a way that is healthy for me, not how somebody else dictates it. Sustainability for people in the Global South is completely different from the rest of the world because we live in constant guilt. We see so much around us that even though I\\u0026rsquo;m grateful for what I have got, I wonder how can I do more with the resources I have to help others. There is constant guilt if you\\u0026rsquo;re indulging too much into things that are definitely harmful for other people, especially if those other people are right in front of us. For us, the people affected is not an imaginary number \\u0026ndash; it is the people who are right next to us.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;How do you plan to use your platform with PUMA to help make the fashion world more sustainable?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Aishwarya: If you look at PUMA, they\\u0026rsquo;re ready to be more transparent, they are ready to have those tough conversations by saying \\u0026ldquo;we know we are not the best brand when it comes to having the best sustainable initiatives, but we are trying to do better.\\u0026rdquo; They are engaged in a lot of sustainability initiatives and so much is happening at a global level. My association with them is special because what I have been advocating for years can be wider spread through our collaboration, and help make fashion more sustainable.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;It\\u0026rsquo;s more complex than we can put onto paper but if one company can do it, maybe others can too. The goal is to reduce our footprint on this planet. How you do this as a brand, an individual company, organisation, whoever you are, in whatever part of the world, is going to be a message to everyone that we can work together. \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;The world would be such a better place if we were to collaborate more and compete less.\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;What do you hope to achieve as PUMA\\u0026acute;s newest Voice of a RE:GENERATION?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Aishwarya: Definitely more social impact, a wider digital awareness so we can spread our messages of sustainability globally. PUMA is catering to millions, if not billions of people around the globe, and awareness of sustainability is so important. As a young climate activist, a person who is so passionate about creating change, this is going to be a global platform for me to reach other people and show that fashion activism is the way of the future; sustainability is the way of the future. That we can come together to do things better because the power of people is incredible. One person multiplied by millions of people who think the same and do the same things around climate action in terms of finding solutions and being more sustainable, has a massive impact. You can do your part. Because even if you choose to rewear the same dress or the same shirt or the same sari ten more times, it keeps its lifecycle renewed \\u0026ndash; it doesn\\u0026rsquo;t end. Re-wearing it, I feel is the ultimate sustainability in terms of fashion.\\u0026nbsp; Further to that is upcycling and recycling. \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;You can always rewear something and make it look cool. You don\\u0026rsquo;t have to indulge in the mindset that if I don\\u0026rsquo;t have more, people will think I don\\u0026rsquo;t have more. That is exactly what you want people to think, that you don\\u0026rsquo;t have more. No more of more is the policy. If you wear a dress five more times, you should be proud and that\\u0026rsquo;s what makes you cool.
