Cuando empec\u00e9 a trabajar para PUMA, me di cuenta de que muchos de nuestros embajadores se parec\u00edan a m\u00ed: Meek Mill, Nipsey Hussle, Rihanna, muchos de nuestros atletas de baloncesto... y eso es genial. Me encant\u00f3. Me gusta la conexi\u00f3n con la comunidad, y eso es algo que realmente me atrae. Pero cuando entr\u00e9 en la oficina, fue muy diferente. No se parec\u00eda a lo que ve\u00eda desde fuera. Hab\u00eda una falta de personas negras y morenas en la oficina. As\u00ed que empezamos a reunir lo que pens\u00e1bamos que ten\u00edamos que hacer para defender una cultura que era uno de nuestros mayores grupos de consumidores.<br\/>\n<br\/>Y cuando se produjeron las injusticias sociales y esos horribles asesinatos en Estados Unidos, la cuesti\u00f3n cobr\u00f3 a\u00fan m\u00e1s importancia. Qued\u00f3 muy claro que necesit\u00e1bamos alg\u00fan tipo de programa. Y as\u00ed es como empez\u00f3 todo.<br\/>\n<br\/>En mayo de 2020 comenzamos a formar el grupo BBOLD. Al principio \u00e9ramos ocho personas. En agosto de 2020 lanzamos oficialmente el\u00a0<em>Grupo de recursos para empleados<\/em>\u00a0(ERG)<em>.<\/em>\u00a0Es el primer ERG de PUMA a nivel mundial. \u00a1Es muy emocionante! Todav\u00eda estamos creciendo y nos encontramos en una fase inicial, pero vamos por buen camino.<br\/>\n<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div ><br\/><strong>\u00bfCu\u00e1ntas personas forman parte del grupo?<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Ariel: Ahora somos entre 90 y 100 personas, y creo que entre 20 y 30 de ellas participan activamente en nuestras reuniones mensuales.<br\/>\n<br\/><strong>\u00bfPuedes nombrar los principales objetivos que deseas alcanzar con el grupo?<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Ariel: Uno de los principales objetivos es garantizar que la oficina, nuestros productos y nuestro trabajo sean equitativos. Ese es uno de nuestros principales objetivos. El otro objetivo es garantizar que seamos accesibles para las personas a las que atendemos: la comunidad negra y morena. Pero tambi\u00e9n asegurarnos de que conseguimos la contrataci\u00f3n y el desarrollo dentro de nuestra empresa. Si tenemos empleados que empiezan hoy o que quieren matricularse, quiero asegurarme de que el grupo de recursos para empleados est\u00e9 presente, para que esas personas se sientan c\u00f3modas, visibles y capaces de ascender dentro de la empresa.<br\/>\n<br\/><strong>\u00bfC\u00f3mo describir\u00edas la cultura negra actual con tres adjetivos?<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Ariel: Hablar\u00e9 principalmente desde la perspectiva estadounidense. Creo que una de ellas es, sin duda, la resiliencia. Otra es la belleza. Tambi\u00e9n es colorida, y no lo digo en sentido figurado, obviamente, sino m\u00e1s bien en el sentido de \u201cvibrante\u201d. Evolucionamos como si estuvi\u00e9ramos creciendo y construy\u00e9ndonos constantemente, lo cual es probablemente algo propio de la humanidad, \u00bfno? Pero, en general, creo que evolucionamos m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido simplemente porque estamos al margen. Cuando eres una persona al margen, tienes que crear mucho m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido y luego las personas que est\u00e1n en el centro adaptan esa cultura. Se ve mucho crecimiento ah\u00ed fuera. A menudo, cuando celebramos la cultura afroamericana, miramos hacia el pasado. Sin embargo, nuestro colectivo quer\u00eda ayudar a cambiar esta narrativa empoderando a las personas para que expresen sus opiniones con sus voces m\u00e1s aut\u00e9nticas en el presente, con el fin de crear su propio legado legendario. We Are Legends pone de relieve tanto el legado de este colectivo de dise\u00f1o como las leyendas dentro de sus propias comunidades. Se lanz\u00f3 a nivel mundial el 1 de octubre de 2022 en nuestra aplicaci\u00f3n PUMA y en la tienda insignia de Nueva York. Desde el 3 de octubre de 2022, la colecci\u00f3n est\u00e1 disponible en PUMA.com y en tiendas selectas de todo el mundo. Es muy emocionante. Tambi\u00e9n llevamos a cabo muchos proyectos dentro de nuestra oficina. Creo que hay un proyecto realmente fant\u00e1stico en marcha llamado <strong>Prosperar<\/strong>, que se celebra entre el ERG BBOLD y nuestro ERG Mom's Squad en honor a las mujeres y  el Mes de la Herencia Hispana (o Latina), que se extiende desde el 15 de septiembre hasta el 15 de octubre. Todav\u00eda existe una cierta dicotom\u00eda que debe delimitarse entre los nombres hispanos y latinos. \u00a0Flourish organizar\u00e1 una sesi\u00f3n de yoga un s\u00e1bado con nuestro Mom's Squad (ERG para madres trabajadoras), dirigida por mujeres que se identifican como hispanas\/latinas. Tengo muchas ganas de que llegue. Las plazas se agotaron en solo un d\u00eda. El s\u00e1bado vendr\u00e1n 60 personas a la oficina. Adem\u00e1s de la clase de yoga, habr\u00e1 regalos y una mesa redonda. Es una iniciativa fant\u00e1stica para asegurarnos de que estamos conectados con la comunidad. Tambi\u00e9n tenemos nuestros eventos navide\u00f1os. Hay un gran brunch previsto, junto con una ceremonia anual de entrega de premios en octubre. El a\u00f1o que viene queremos ampliar a\u00fan m\u00e1s. Una de nuestras iniciativas es crear una v\u00eda de carrera para nuestros compa\u00f1eros de equipo del sector minorista hacia nuestro mundo corporativo. Hemos establecido un modelo de las cinco C:\u00a0<em>Carrera profesional<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Comunidad<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Comunicaci\u00f3n<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Cultura<\/em>\u00a0y\u00a0<em>Comercio<\/em>. Hubo un grupo de personas internas que se aseguraron de que esto no se quedara en el olvido. What does it stand for?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Ariel: I started at PUMA in 2019, just one year before the pandemic. When I started to work for PUMA, I realized a lot of our ambassadors represented what I look like \u2013 Meek Mill, Nipsey Hussle, Rihanna, many of our basketball athletes, and that\u2019s awesome. I loved it. I like the connection to the community, and that\u2019s really something that appeals to me. But when I walked into the office, it was very different. It didn\u2019t look like what I see from the outside. There was a lack of black and brown people in the office. So, we started putting together what we thought we needed to do to advocate for a culture that were one of our largest consumer groups.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;And when the social injustices happened and those horrific murders happened in the U.S., the issue became even more important. It made it laser focus clear, that we need some sort of program. And that\u00b4s how it got started.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;In May 2020 we started formulating the BBOLD group. In the beginning we were eight people. In August 2020 we officially launched the\u00a0\\u0026lt;em\\u0026gt;Employee Resource Group\\u0026lt;\/em\\u0026gt;\u00a0(ERG)\\u0026lt;em\\u0026gt;.\\u0026lt;\/em\\u0026gt;\u00a0It\u2019s PUMA\u00b4s first ERG globally. Really exciting! We are still growing and are still at a young stage, but on a good track.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\",\"contentRight\":\"\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;How many people are involved in the group?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Ariel: We are 90 \u2013 100 people now and I think 20 \u2013 30 of them are actively participating in our monthly meetings.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;Can you name your main goals you want to achieve with the group?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Ariel: One of the main goals is to make sure that the office, our products, and our work is equitable. That is a major focus. The other focus is to make sure we are accessible to the people who we\u2019re looking after \u2013 the black and brown community. But then also to make sure we get the recruiting and also development within our business. If we have employees here that are starting today or want to matriculate, I want to make sure that the employee resource group is present, so those people feel comfortable, seen, and able to elevate within the company.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;How would you describe black culture today with three adjectives?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Ariel:I\u2019ll speak mainly from the American perspective. I think one for sure is\u00a0resiliency. Another one is\u00a0beautiful. It\u2019s also\u00a0colorful, and I don\u2019t mean that in a pun way, obviously, but more in a \u201cvibrant\u201d way.\u00a0Evolving\u00a0like we\u2019re consistently growing and building ourselves, which is probably a humanity thing, right? But in general, I think we are quicker to evolve just because we\u2019re on the fringe. When you\u2019re the fringe people you have to create a lot faster and then the people in the middle adapt that culture. You see a lot of the growth out there. So when I use the word evolving, I don\u2019t mean it necessarily in the evolution of mankind, I just mean it in the sense Often when we celebrate Black culture, we look to the past. We also do a lot of projects within our office. I think there\u2019s a really great project going on called \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;Flourish\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;, which is between the BBOLD ERG and our ERG Mom\u00b4s Squad honoring women and \u00a0Hispanic Heritage Month (or Latin) which spans from September 15th to October 15th. There\u2019s still a certain dichotomy in that that needs to be delineated between Hispanic or LatinX naming. \u00a0Flourish will host a Yoga session on a Saturday with our Mom\u00b4s Squad (ERG for working mom\u00b4s), led by women that identify as Hispanic\/LatinX. I am really looking forward to it. The class sold out in just one day. On Saturday, 60 people will come to the office. In addition to the yoga class, there will be gifts, and a panel discussion. It\u2019s a fantastic initiative to make sure we are connected to the community. We also have our holiday events. There is a big brunch planned, coupled with an annual awards ceremony in October. Next year we are looking to expand further. One of our initiatives is to build a career pipeline for our teammates out in the retail field into our corporate world. What does it stand for?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Ariel: I started at PUMA in 2019, just one year before the pandemic. When I started to work for PUMA, I realized a lot of our ambassadors represented what I look like \u2013 Meek Mill, Nipsey Hussle, Rihanna, many of our basketball athletes, and that\u2019s awesome. I loved it. I like the connection to the community, and that\u2019s really something that appeals to me. But when I walked into the office, it was very different. It didn\u2019t look like what I see from the outside. There was a lack of black and brown people in the office. So, we started putting together what we thought we needed to do to advocate for a culture that were one of our largest consumer groups.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;And when the social injustices happened and those horrific murders happened in the U.S., the issue became even more important. It made it laser focus clear, that we need some sort of program. And that\u00b4s how it got started.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;In May 2020 we started formulating the BBOLD group. In the beginning we were eight people. In August 2020 we officially launched the\u00a0\\u0026lt;em\\u0026gt;Employee Resource Group\\u0026lt;\/em\\u0026gt;\u00a0(ERG)\\u0026lt;em\\u0026gt;.\\u0026lt;\/em\\u0026gt;\u00a0It\u2019s PUMA\u00b4s first ERG globally. Really exciting! We are still growing and are still at a young stage, but on a good track.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\",\"contentRight\":\"\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;How many people are involved in the group?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Ariel: We are 90 \u2013 100 people now and I think 20 \u2013 30 of them are actively participating in our monthly meetings.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;Can you name your main goals you want to achieve with the group?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Ariel: One of the main goals is to make sure that the office, our products, and our work is equitable. That is a major focus. The other focus is to make sure we are accessible to the people who we\u2019re looking after \u2013 the black and brown community. But then also to make sure we get the recruiting and also development within our business. If we have employees here that are starting today or want to matriculate, I want to make sure that the employee resource group is present, so those people feel comfortable, seen, and able to elevate within the company.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;How would you describe black culture today with three adjectives?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Ariel:I\u2019ll speak mainly from the American perspective. I think one for sure is\u00a0resiliency. Another one is\u00a0beautiful. It\u2019s also\u00a0colorful, and I don\u2019t mean that in a pun way, obviously, but more in a \u201cvibrant\u201d way.\u00a0Evolving\u00a0like we\u2019re consistently growing and building ourselves, which is probably a humanity thing, right? But in general, I think we are quicker to evolve just because we\u2019re on the fringe. When you\u2019re the fringe people you have to create a lot faster and then the people in the middle adapt that culture. You see a lot of the growth out there. So when I use the word evolving, I don\u2019t mean it necessarily in the evolution of mankind, I just mean it in the sense WE wanted to empower people, everyone around me to make sure they understand they are legends and have the opportunity to be as legendary as, say a, Rev. Dr Martin Luther King Jr. The collection was championed and led by black designers and strives to empower and amplify the voices of our Black community \u2013 our legends.\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\u00a0\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;Any future projects of the PUMA BBOLD ERG Group you want to talk about?\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;\\n\\u0026lt;br\/\\u0026gt;Ariel: \u201cThe Yard\u201d is the\u00a0first\u00a0collection under the We Are Legends platform. It released globally on\u00a0October 1, 2022, on our PUMA app and\u00a0at\u00a0the\u00a0New York City\u00a0Flagship store.\u00a0Since\u00a0October 3, 2022, the collection is available\u00a0on\u00a0PUMA.com and select retailers worldwide.\u00a0That\u2019s very exciting. We also do a lot of projects within our office. I think there\u2019s a really great project going on called \\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;Flourish\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt;, which is between the BBOLD ERG and our ERG Mom\u00b4s Squad honoring women and \u00a0Hispanic Heritage Month (or Latin) which spans from September 15th to October 15th. There\u2019s still a certain dichotomy in that that needs to be delineated between Hispanic or LatinX naming. \u00a0Flourish will host a Yoga session on a Saturday with our Mom\u00b4s Squad (ERG for working mom\u00b4s), led by women that identify as Hispanic\/LatinX. I am really looking forward to it. The class sold out in just one day. On Saturday, 60 people will come to the office. In addition to the yoga class, there will be gifts, and a panel discussion. It\u2019s a fantastic initiative to make sure we are connected to the community. We also have our holiday events. There is a big brunch planned, coupled with an annual awards ceremony in October. Next year we are looking to expand further. One of our initiatives is to build a career pipeline for our teammates out in the retail field into our corporate world.
