It became evident that being active across a lifetime pays off, not only physically but mentally too. WHACK. I realized it was important to train with the future in mind right now, despite age. The media sell short term goals as a quick fix to motivation, and while it is satisfying to be able to achieve that pull up goal or run a half marathon, the long game is where it\\u2019s at.\\nTraining for our future selves doesn\\u2019t need to feel abstract. Y aunque los objetivos a corto plazo son una parte importante para mantener la motivaci\u00f3n y mejorar continuamente, me di cuenta de que simplemente construir un estilo de vida activo lo supera todo.<\/span>\n<br\/>\u00a0<br\/>\n<br\/>Esto se hizo a\u00fan m\u00e1s evidente a medida que trabajaba m\u00e1s con adultos de m\u00e1s de 60 a\u00f1os, <strong>notando una enorme discrepancia en la calidad de vida entre los que hab\u00edan hecho ejercicio regularmente y los que no.<\/strong> Se hizo evidente que mantenerse activo a lo largo de toda la vida compensa, no s\u00f3lo f\u00edsicamente, sino tambi\u00e9n mentalmente. Los medios de comunicaci\u00f3n venden los objetivos a corto plazo como una soluci\u00f3n r\u00e1pida a la motivaci\u00f3n, y aunque es satisfactorio poder conseguir ese objetivo de levantarse o correr una media marat\u00f3n, <strong>el juego a largo plazo es donde est\u00e1.<\/strong>\nFormarse para el futuro no tiene por qu\u00e9 ser algo abstracto. Lo mejor de todo es que los beneficios empiezan ma\u00f1ana y no har\u00e1n m\u00e1s que aumentar durante el resto de tu vida.<br\/>\n<br\/>\u00bfC\u00f3mo puede el ejercicio regular mejorar la calidad de vida en el futuro?<br\/>\n<br\/>\u00a0<br\/>\n<\/div>\n   <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_2b\" ><br\/><strong>Eleva la energ\u00eda<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/><strong>A medida que envejecemos, la batalla se convierte en mantener la forma f\u00edsica, la fuerza y la energ\u00eda.<\/strong> El ejercicio regular no s\u00f3lo combate el declive natural del metabolismo, la funci\u00f3n muscular y la capacidad cardiovascular, sino que tambi\u00e9n mejora la calidad del sue\u00f1o, lo que significa m\u00e1s energ\u00eda para vivir plenamente.<br\/>\n<br\/>\u00a0<br\/>\n<br\/><strong>Mejora la movilidad<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Se define como \u201cla capacidad de moverse\u201d, <strong>la movilidad es tan importante para conservar la independencia a medida que envejecemos.<\/strong> Nos permite participar en importantes actividades culturales, sociales y f\u00edsicas a lo largo de toda la vida. Si a cualquier edad te cuesta hacer una sentadilla o una estocada b\u00e1sica, merece la pena dedicar tiempo a mejorarla. Y aunque pueda parecer insignificante a los 20 o 30 a\u00f1os, la movilidad tiene un gran impacto en la calidad de vida m\u00e1s adelante.<br\/>\n<br\/>\u00a0<br\/>\n<br\/><strong>Mejora la salud mental<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Se ha demostrado que casi todos los tipos de ejercicio mejoran el estado de \u00e1nimo y aumentan la positividad debido a la liberaci\u00f3n de serotonina, la \u201chormona de la felicidad\u201d. <strong>Se ha demostrado que el ejercicio regular reduce los sentimientos de depresi\u00f3n y alivia el estr\u00e9s, al tiempo que mejora la autoestima y la confianza en uno mismo.<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>\u00a0<br\/>\n<br\/><strong>Agudiza las funciones cerebrales<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>El ejercicio regular, especialmente las actividades cardiovasculares como caminar, correr y montar en bicicleta, se ha relacionado con una mejora de la funci\u00f3n cerebral. Se ha comprobado que el aumento del flujo sangu\u00edneo y el consiguiente aporte de ox\u00edgeno al cerebro durante el ejercicio <strong>contribuye al crecimiento de las c\u00e9lulas cerebrales y potencia la memoria y la cognici\u00f3n<\/strong> ayud\u00e1ndote a ser r\u00e1pido de ingenio.<br\/>\n<br\/>\u00a0<br\/>\n<br\/><strong>Conecta con la comunidad<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>Ya sea un paseo por el barrio, una clase de gimnasia o el equipo local de nataci\u00f3n, hacer ejercicio en grupos sociales nos ayuda a sentirnos conectados y m\u00e1s seguros de nosotros mismos. <strong>Sentirse conectado a una comunidad no s\u00f3lo influye en la calidad de vida, sino tambi\u00e9n en la esperanza de vida.<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>\u00a0<br\/>\n<\/div>\n   <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_2b\" ><br\/><strong>TIP:<\/strong><br\/>\n<br\/>\u00a0<br\/>\n<br\/>Empieza a construir un estilo de vida activo <strong>elegir actividades que te gusten.<\/strong> Aunque los estudios han demostrado que los ejercicios cardiovasculares, como correr, caminar o montar en bicicleta, y los estiramientos son los que tienen un mayor impacto positivo en general, m\u00e1s vale hacer ejercicio con regularidad que no hacerlo. El objetivo final es la sostenibilidad y la satisfacci\u00f3n, y disfrutar hace que sea m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil ser constante, as\u00ed que elige actividades a las que puedas ce\u00f1irte.
