El paso del campo de f\u00fatbol al marat\u00f3n no fue una coincidencia, sino la consecuencia l\u00f3gica del encuentro entre el material y la biomec\u00e1nica. El carbono no altera el pie, sino que modifica su comportamiento. Cada persona tiene un patr\u00f3n de carrera natural. El carbono modifica ese patr\u00f3n sin romperlo. \u201cAterrizas de forma ligeramente diferente, ruedas de forma diferente, empujas de forma m\u00e1s eficiente. Eso lo cambia todo\u201d, afirma Matthias Hartmann.<br><br>El carbono est\u00e1 compuesto por miles de filamentos de carbono, m\u00e1s finos que un cabello humano, dispuestos en capas en tejidos e incrustados en una matriz polim\u00e9rica antes de ser curados. La orientaci\u00f3n de estas fibras determina c\u00f3mo se absorben y devuelven las fuerzas. \u201cLos pl\u00e1sticos tradicionales se vuelven lentos con el tiempo. Se deforman, pierden tensi\u00f3n y no vuelven completamente a su posici\u00f3n original\u201d, explica.
