Este campo estaba estrechamente relacionado con el rendimiento f\u00edsico y se centraba en la cuesti\u00f3n fundamental de c\u00f3mo las personas pueden alcanzar su m\u00e1ximo rendimiento. \u201cNo solo en el deporte, sino tambi\u00e9n en profesiones como la aviaci\u00f3n, los cient\u00edficos se dieron cuenta r\u00e1pidamente de que nuestra mente, nuestras emociones y nuestros sentimientos tienen un impacto significativo en el rendimiento, lo que finalmente dio lugar al campo de la psicolog\u00eda deportiva\u201d, afirma Lobinger. \u00a0<br><br>Dado que Estados Unidos, como es habitual en el \u00e1mbito cient\u00edfico, llevaba d\u00e9cadas de ventaja en psicolog\u00eda deportiva, en la mayor parte del mundo esta disciplina apenas se conoc\u00eda. \u201cEn los Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos de Atlanta de los a\u00f1os 90, el equipo estadounidense lleg\u00f3 con unos 30 psic\u00f3logos deportivos. En el equipo alem\u00e1n, no hab\u00eda ninguno\u201d, recuerda Lobinger. \u00a0<br><br>Los pioneros de la psicolog\u00eda deportiva alemana a\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde fueron Dirk Nowitzki y J\u00fcrgen Klinsmann. Mientras que la leyenda del baloncesto alem\u00e1n Dirk Nowitzki consideraba las t\u00e9cnicas psicol\u00f3gicas como algo completamente normal a principios de la d\u00e9cada de 2000, J\u00fcrgen Klinsmann fue el primer entrenador de la selecci\u00f3n alemana de f\u00fatbol en llevar a un psic\u00f3logo deportivo a la Copa del Mundo de 2006. Los ni\u00f1os ya pueden aprender a percibir c\u00f3mo se siente un movimiento, a manejar el nerviosismo y a desarrollar el trabajo en equipo\u201d. Todo esto se puede ense\u00f1ar de forma l\u00fadica y adecuada a su edad, por ejemplo, mediante dibujos o juegos sencillos. \u00a0<br><br>La ventaja de empezar pronto es que el riesgo de causar da\u00f1o es m\u00ednimo. \u201cEn mi opini\u00f3n, no se puede \u2018sobreentrenar\u2019 psicol\u00f3gicamente a los ni\u00f1os peque\u00f1os si se hace de forma l\u00fadica. Por supuesto, algunos m\u00e9todos no dar\u00e1n resultados, pero eso solo significa que hay que probar otro diferente\u201d.\u201d \u00a0<br><br>Si bien todo eso favorece el desarrollo deportivo, lo que suele ser a\u00fan m\u00e1s importante es que estas habilidades son relevantes en la vida cotidiana. La psicolog\u00eda deportiva suele utilizar la imagen de un peque\u00f1o kit de herramientas, un lugar seguro al que el deportista puede recurrir cuando las cosas se ponen dif\u00edciles. Y no importa si esas herramientas se utilizan antes de un penalti decisivo, en un examen escolar o durante una semana agitada en el trabajo.
