Welche Momente sind Ihnen in Erinnerung geblieben?<\/strong><\/span><strong>Colin Jackson:<\/strong> Die Strecke. Dort ist alles passiert. Die Olympischen Spiele 1992 - ich war in Topform, ich war der Favorit - und ich habe nicht gewonnen. Das hat mich ersch\u00fcttert. Aber es hat mich gepr\u00e4gt. Ich musste lernen, dass Erfolg nie garantiert ist. Und dass man sich nicht \u00fcber Gold definieren sollte. Sport ist nicht nett - aber er ist ehrlich. Wenn man lernt, damit umzugehen, lernt man, mit dem Leben umzugehen.<br><br><strong>Jonathan Edwards:<\/strong> Die pr\u00e4gendsten Momente kamen aus der Leichtathletik. W\u00e4hrend meiner Karriere habe ich funktioniert. Heute sehe ich, dass mich diese Erfahrungen in jeder Hinsicht gepr\u00e4gt haben. Der Sport war ein Beschleuniger - alles geschah verdichtet, ohne Schutz. Emotionen, Erwartungen, Misserfolg, Erfolg - man konnte nichts verbergen. Aber das allein reicht nicht aus. Man wird auf die Probe gestellt - wieder und wieder. Erst dann erf\u00e4hrt man, ob man wirklich belastbar ist: ob man nach einer Niederlage wieder aufsteht, nach einer Verletzung weitermacht, immer noch an sich glaubt, wenn andere es nicht tun. Sport ist nicht fair. Genauso wenig wie das Leben. Resilienz ist keine Superkraft - es ist eine Einstellung.<br><br><strong>Jonathan:<\/strong> Resilienz ist zu einem Modewort geworden. Damals sagte man einfach: \"Mach weiter.\" Aber dahinter steckt ein Wertesystem: nicht aufgeben, wieder aufstehen, anderen helfen, weitermachen - auch wenn es weh tut. Und das ist nichts, was man allein aufbaut. Es w\u00e4chst durch Verbindung, durch Gemeinschaft. Wenn ich zur\u00fcckblicke, w\u00fcrde ich sagen: Ich wurde nicht widerstandsf\u00e4hig geboren. Ich wurde widerstandsf\u00e4hig.<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div ><span class=\"interviewq\"><strong>Wenn Sie heute zur\u00fcckblicken - erinnern Sie sich eher an die H\u00f6hepunkte oder an die harte Arbeit?<\/strong><\/span><strong>Colin:<\/strong> Die harte Arbeit war die Grundlage - aber r\u00fcckblickend sind es die Momente, in denen es Klick gemacht hat, die mir in Erinnerung bleiben. Wenn dein K\u00f6rper reagiert, dein Geist ruhig ist, dein Rhythmus stimmt. Es sind nur Bruchteile von Sekunden - aber unvergesslich. Der Weg war brutal. Manchmal bin ich allein durch den Schnee in Cardiff gelaufen. Aber man tut es f\u00fcr diesen einen Moment. Und wenn er kommt, verschwindet der Schmerz.<br><br><strong>Jonathan:<\/strong> Ich erinnere mich an beides - aber anders. Die Highlights sind wie Leuchtt\u00fcrme: mein Weltrekord, die Goldmedaille. Aber die Arbeit dahinter ist der Boden, auf dem man steht. Und den vermisse ich manchmal. Die Klarheit. Die Einfachheit des Sportlerdaseins - kein Chaos, keine \u00dcberforderung. Das Leben ist jetzt viel komplexer. Damals ging es vor allem darum, sich zu konzentrieren, zu filtern, den Kurs zu halten.<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnNarrow spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_quote\" ><p>\"Die Strecke ist ehrlich. Und wie haben Sie es geschafft, sich immer wieder zu motivieren?<\/strong><\/span><strong>Jonathan:<\/strong> Ich war sehr diszipliniert - aber ohne Anpassungsf\u00e4higkeit h\u00e4tte ich es nicht geschafft. Der K\u00f6rper ver\u00e4ndert sich. Die Technik entwickelt sich weiter. Man ver\u00e4ndert sich - und man muss sein Training st\u00e4ndig anpassen. Was mich motiviert hat, war nie der Gedanke an Medaillen - es war der Drang, mich zu verbessern.<br><br><strong>Colin:<\/strong> Bei mir war es die Disziplin. Ich war sehr strukturiert: feste Abl\u00e4ufe, wenig Spielraum. Ich glaube nicht an Motivation als Voraussetzung - ich glaube an Vorbereitung. Wenn ich um 7:30 Uhr auf der Bahn sein musste, war ich um 7:20 Uhr da. Immer. Aber ich wusste auch: Man kann nicht alles kontrollieren - und genau da kommt die Anpassungsf\u00e4higkeit ins Spiel. Und was hat Ihnen geholfen, sich durchzusetzen?<\/span>Colin:<\/strong> Der Geist war der gr\u00f6\u00dfere Gegner. Es gab Zeiten, in denen ich k\u00f6rperlich in H\u00f6chstform war - aber emotional ausgelaugt. Man trainiert wie verr\u00fcckt, zeigt im Training gro\u00dfartige Leistungen - und dann kommt das gro\u00dfe Rennen, und man kann nicht liefern. Was mich durchhalten lie\u00df, war meine Routine.<br><br><strong>Jonathan:<\/strong> Vor Wettk\u00e4mpfen war ich oft sehr nerv\u00f6s. Diese innere Stimme sagte: Du bist nicht gut genug. Du wirst scheitern. Ich habe nie gedacht: Ich werde das hier gewinnen. Aber mit der Zeit habe ich gelernt: Diese Gedanken sind ein Teil von mir - nicht mein Feind. Und ich wusste: Wenn ich am Ende der Startbahn stehe, werde ich es schaffen. Der Moment selbst war meist sehr klar.<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div ><strong><span class=\"interviewq\">War Ihr R\u00fcckzug aus dem Leistungssport ein klarer Bruch - oder eher ein schrittweiser \u00dcbergang? Und wie schwer war es, loszulassen?<\/span>Colin:<\/strong> F\u00fcr die Au\u00dfenwelt sah es wie ein sauberer Bruch aus. Im Sommer 2002 nahm ich noch an Wettk\u00e4mpfen teil - dann stand ich pl\u00f6tzlich mit einem Mikrofon an der Strecke, w\u00e4hrend Jonathan noch sprang. Ich erinnere mich genau an diesen Moment: Anzug, Mikrofon - aber innerlich war es ein Prozess. Die Identit\u00e4t, die man sich \u00fcber Jahrzehnte aufgebaut hat, verschwindet nicht \u00fcber Nacht. An manchen Tagen w\u00fcnschte ich mir einfach, ich k\u00f6nnte wieder trainieren. Kein Mikrofon, keine Medien, keine Zweifel.<br><br><strong>Jonathan:<\/strong> Ich kann das gut nachvollziehen. Ich war 37, hatte alles erreicht - und hatte eine Verletzung, die mir sagte: Das war's. Ich hatte eigentlich geplant, bis 2004 weiterzumachen. Was mir half, war die Perspektive: Die BBC zeigte Interesse, ich konnte im Spiel bleiben - nur in einer anderen Rolle. Dann kam die Olympiabewerbung Londons - das war enorm. Ich bin nicht in ein Loch gefallen, und daf\u00fcr bin ich dankbar. Aber ja - pl\u00f6tzlich war es still. Ich musste mich an ein Leben mit weniger Adrenalin gew\u00f6hnen.<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_2b\" ><strong><span class=\"interviewq\">Hatten Sie das Gef\u00fchl, sich nach Ihrer Karriere neu erfinden zu m\u00fcssen - oder konnten Sie Ihre St\u00e4rken in das n\u00e4chste Kapitel mitnehmen?<\/span>Colin:<\/strong> Ein bisschen von beidem. Ich habe viel mitgenommen - Disziplin, Struktur, Vorbereitung. Aber ich musste mir auch neue F\u00e4higkeiten aneignen. Vor einem gro\u00dfen Publikum zu sprechen zum Beispiel. Frei zu sprechen, ohne Skript, vor der Kamera. Ich war ein Sportler - kein Redner. Das musste ich von Grund auf lernen. Wenn man etwas Neues will, muss man sich weiterentwickeln.<br><br><strong>Jonathan:<\/strong> Als Sportler muss man sich st\u00e4ndig weiterentwickeln: den Trainern zuh\u00f6ren, die Technik analysieren, an Details arbeiten. Diese Einstellung - nicht alles zu wissen, aber bereit zu sein zu lernen - habe ich mitgenommen. Ich hatte nie das Gef\u00fchl, mich neu erfinden zu m\u00fcssen. That inner voice saying: You\\u0026rsquo;re not good enough. You\\u0026rsquo;ll fail. I never thought: I\\u0026rsquo;m going to win this. But over time, I learned: these thoughts are part of me \\u0026ndash; not my enemy. And I knew: once I\\u0026rsquo;m at the end of the runway \\u0026ndash; I\\u0026rsquo;ll deliver. The moment itself was usually very clear.\",\"contentRight\":\"\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;span class=\\u0026quot;interviewq\\u0026quot;\\u0026gt;Was your retirement from competitive sport a clean break \\u0026ndash; or more of a gradual transition? I was still competing in summer 2002 \\u0026ndash; then suddenly standing trackside with a mic, while Jonathan was still jumping. I remember that moment clearly: suit, microphone \\u0026ndash; but inside, it was a process. The identity you\\u0026rsquo;ve built over decades doesn\\u0026rsquo;t vanish overnight. Some days, I just wished I could train again. No mic, no media, no doubts.\\u0026lt;br\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;strong\\u0026gt;Jonathan:\\u0026lt;\/strong\\u0026gt; I can completely relate. I was 37, had achieved everything \\u0026ndash; and had an injury that told me: this is it. I\\u0026rsquo;d actually planned to continue until 2004. What helped was perspective: the BBC showed interest, I could stay in the game \\u0026ndash; just in a different role. Then came London\\u0026rsquo;s Olympic bid \\u0026ndash; that was huge. I didn\\u0026rsquo;t fall into a hole, and I\\u0026rsquo;m grateful for that. But yes \\u0026ndash; suddenly, there was silence.
