He\u2019s one of our favorite F1 drivers \u2013 We were lucky enough to welcome PUMA athlete and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Driver George Russell last week to PUMAs Australian Flagship Store in Melbourne. Ahead of the Grand Prix (GP), lucky PUMA shoppers who set the top three fastest lap times on PUMA\u00b4s race simulator in the store were invited to attend the exclusive Victory Lap<\/em>. The event was joined by guest of honour, Russell as well as media, and influencers. All eyes were on Russell as the final race between promotion winner, Jordan, and George Russell kicked off. Russell in the end achieved a lap time of 1:18:008, just 0:01:029 seconds ahead of Jordan.<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Is the Melbourne F1 Grand Prix one of your favourites?\u00a0<\/strong>
George Russel: It is definitely among the top three. There\u2019s a lot of good ones but I do like the vibes in Melbourne. I think Melbourne, Austin and Silverstone are the three best ones in terms of the overall atmosphere of the fans, the circuit and the weekend in general.


How do you like the Australian fans?<\/strong>
George Russel: Australian fans are pretty wild to be honest. They know how to have a good time.


What does it mean to you to be a<\/strong> PUMA athlete?<\/strong>
George Russel: I love being with PUMA. I was wearing PUMA ever since I was eleven years old. When I joined Mercedes, I\u2019ve been wearing PUMA, every time I go to the gym. In casual wear, my whole family is wearing PUMA. I just love the brand.<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

George took time to meet fans and sign Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS merchandise. As a memento of the evening, which ended with a special performance by local artist Kily Safari,<\/strong> attendees were also given limited edition Melbourne-inspired patches to put on T-shirts.
