\u201cA little with the head of Maradona, and a little with the hand of God.\u201d\u00a0<\/h2>With the match locked at 0-0 early in the second half, Maradona exchanged passes on the edge of the box before a poor clearance sent the ball looping high into the air. As England goalkeeper Peter Shilton rushed forward to claim it, Maradona leapt alongside him and, with what some have since called divine intervention, redirected the ball into the net. Just four minutes after opening the scoring, Maradona collected the ball inside his own half and began a run that seemed impossible. Accelerating through midfield, he glided past a string of England players before bursting into the penalty area. With only Peter Shilton left to beat, Maradona calmly rounded the goalkeeper and steered the ball into the net, completing one of the greatest solo goals football has ever seen.\u00a0

The entire move lasted just 11 seconds. Over a distance of more than 55 metres, Maradona touched the ball repeatedly while evading virtually half the England team, scoring an unforgettable solo goal.
