In den 80er Jahren arbeitete er mit PUMA zusammen, die seine Schuhe und sp\u00e4ter auch seine Overalls lieferten. F\u00fcr einen normalen Fu\u00df mag das eine Kleinigkeit gewesen sein. F\u00fcr einen Rennfahrer in einem Einsitzer in den 80er Jahren war es ein Problem, denn die Autos waren weit entfernt von den hochautomatisierten Maschinen, die wir heute sehen. Wenn man damals vor einer Kurve bremste, musste man herunterschalten, die Kupplung treten, das Gaspedal bet\u00e4tigen, das Getriebe sortieren und das Auto stabilisieren - und das alles auf nur wenigen Zentimetern Platz im Fu\u00dfraum. Das machte den Schuh zu einem der wichtigsten Werkzeuge, die ein Fahrer hatte.<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_default\" >Christian braucht nur ein paar S\u00e4tze, und schon ist man nicht mehr in einem Sitzungssaal in Herzogenaurach, sondern im Cockpit eines Einsitzers der 1980er Jahre. Drei Pedale, ein enges Cockpit, eine Bremse, die ordentlich Kraft erfordert, ein Gaspedal, das genau im richtigen Moment kurz angetippt werden muss. \u201cBlip, blip\u201d, sagt Christian und legt die H\u00e4nde eng \u00fcbereinander, um zu zeigen, wie wenig Platz zwischen Bremse, Kupplung und Gas ist.<\/div>\n   <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnNarrow spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_quote\" >\u201dMan brauchte einen Schuh mit einer wirklich stabilen Sohle.\u201c<\/div>\n   <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_default\" >\u201cHeute hat man nur zwei Pedale, Gas und Bremse, und der Rest passiert hier oben\u201d, sagt er. \u201cWir hatten drei Pedale und ein richtiges Getriebe. Erster, zweiter, dritter, vierter Gang - und dann wieder runter und wieder hoch.\u201d Das klingt zun\u00e4chst nach einer technischen Erkl\u00e4rung. Bei Danner wird es zu einer k\u00f6rperlichen Bewegung.\u00a0<br><br>Und genau deshalb brauchte Christian einen Schuh, der mit ihm zusammenarbeitet. \u201cMan brauchte einen Schuh mit einer wirklich stabilen Sohle\u201d, sagt er. Beim Gasgeben arbeitet der rechte Fu\u00df immer wieder an der gleichen Stelle und schickt die Last direkt in die Sohle. \u201cMan hat praktisch ein Loch in die Mitte des Schuhs getrieben.\u201d Der linke Fu\u00df hatte es leichter: Er dr\u00fcckte die Kupplung. Der rechte Fu\u00df musste bremsen und beschleunigen - st\u00e4ndig auf der Kante arbeiten.<\/div>\n   <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnNarrow spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_quote\" >\u201cIch wollte dabei sein. Christian wusste genau, was er brauchte: einen Schuh, der eng anliegt, stabil bleibt und den Kontakt mit dem Pedal direkt \u00fcbertr\u00e4gt. In einem Formelauto der achtziger Jahre geh\u00f6rte dies zur Kontrolle. F\u00fcr PUMA war es ein direkter Einstieg in den Motorsport. Lange Zeit kamen Rennfahrerschuhe vor allem aus Spezialwerkst\u00e4tten, oft handgefertigt, aber selten systematisch aus der Fahrerperspektive entwickelt: Was passiert beim Bremsen? Wo arbeitet der Fu\u00df? Wie viel Platz gibt es zwischen den Pedalen? Wie steif muss die Sohle sein? Wie eng soll der Schuh sitzen?<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnNarrow spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_quote\" >\u201cDamals gab es noch nicht so moderne Materialien. Es gab Leder, Gummi und Schn\u00fcrsenkel.\u201d<\/div>\n   <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_default\" >Damals wie heute ist Feedback f\u00fcr PUMA entscheidend, um die bestm\u00f6glichen Produkte zu entwickeln, die den Sportlern zu H\u00f6chstleistungen verhelfen.  Christian brachte wertvolle Einsichten aus dem Cockpit mit, etwas, das Designer nur durch den Austausch mit dem Fahrer verstehen k\u00f6nnen: das Gef\u00fchl f\u00fcr das Pedal. Er erkl\u00e4rte, wie sich die Sohle im Auto verh\u00e4lt, wo sie belastet wird, warum sie stabil bleiben muss. PUMA brachte seine Erfahrung in der Schuhentwicklung ein: Schnitt, Material, Konstruktion, Passform. Da die Auswahl an Materialien damals begrenzt war - Leder, Gummi, Schn\u00fcrsenkel - musste die Konstruktion des Schuhs genau richtig sein.\u00a0<br><br>Der erste Prototyp war angenehm zu tragen: weich, gro\u00dfz\u00fcgig geschnitten - aber letztlich ein bisschen zu viel von allem. Im Rennwagen lieferte der Schuh deshalb zu wenig Pr\u00e4zision. Also wurde er geschliffen. Enger. Stabiler. Direkter.<br> \u00a0<br>Genau hier wurde die Bedeutung der Zusammenarbeit mit dem Fahrer deutlich: als Feedbackschleife zwischen Fahrer und Hersteller. Christian testete, erkl\u00e4rte, kritisierte. PUMA passte sich an. Aus Expertenwissen wurde Entwicklung. Aus einem Schuh mit Logo wurde ein Werkzeug, das den Anforderungen des Autos standh\u00e4lt.<\/div>\n   <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnNarrow spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_quote\" >\u201dIch hatte zwei Paar Schuhe f\u00fcr das ganze Jahr. Doch die Ausr\u00fcstung war damals kostbar. Ein Rennanzug musste eine ganze Saison halten, wurde nach dem Wochenende gewaschen und beim n\u00e4chsten Rennen wieder getragen. Auch die Schuhe waren Arbeitsmaterial. \u201cIch hatte zwei Paar Schuhe f\u00fcr das ganze Jahr\u201d, sagt Danner. \u201cUnd das hat gereicht. Ein rotes Paar und ein blaues Paar, glaube ich.\u201d Statt bei jedem Rennen die Farbe zu wechseln, war vor allem eines wichtig: Es musste im Cockpit funktionieren.<\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<!-- row text single -->\n<div class=\"gradientnone\">\n<div class=\"row rowSingleColumnWide spacing\">\n    <div class=\"col articleText\">\n        <div class=\"textStyle_default\" >Christian blieb PUMA w\u00e4hrend seiner gesamten Formel-1-Zeit treu. Er fuhr mit PUMA in Japan, in der Formel 1 und in anderen Rennserien. Er trug die Schuhe, Overalls und auch die Freizeitkleidung der Marke: Polos, Pullover, Sportbekleidung. Bis heute ist der Ausnahmesportler im Motorsport aktiv: als Experte, Kommentator, Berater und Netzwerker.\u00a0<br><br>Der richtige Schuh ver\u00e4ndert die Physik nicht. Aber er tr\u00e4gt dazu bei, wie direkt der Fahrer das Auto sp\u00fcren kann. With Danner, it becomes a physical movement.\\u0026nbsp;\\u0026lt;br\\u0026gt;\\u0026lt;br\\u0026gt;And that is exactly why Christian required a shoe that works with him. \\u0026ldquo;You needed a shoe with a really stable sole,\\u0026rdquo; he says. When blipping the throttle, the right foot works the same spot again and again, sending the load straight into the sole. \\u0026ldquo;You practically drove a hole into the middle of the shoe.\\u0026rdquo; The left foot had it easier: it pushed the clutch.
